I think it must have been. Bit of a shame for him really, for a while there it looked like had made the 9 jersey his own, but then he turned in that insipid defensive display against the Roosters.

I think it’s tough to drop him for one bad performance though, dropping a player for a week to Reggie’s but bringing him back makes more sense but every player is going to have a bad game here and there.

Unless hynes goes back to playing how he was at the start of the year, I actually find Atkinson and trindall a more dangerous combo. Hynes form after getting dropped from origin has been obvious his confidence is shot, he has just been playing like he doesn’t even believe in himself but if he turns that around, it’s dangerous.

I'd say Lawton will be used if needed for Croker, then Burbo replaces Lawton as well as cover for any backs if necessary.

I'm happy...it's a strong team, despite no Turbo or Saab. Should be a cracker of a game.

All hinges on the Penrith v Tit's game on Sat night, Penrith win this and they should. Sharks stay 3rd no matter what, barring a big loss against us, but this wont happen. Their heads may not be in the right head space for trench warfare against our forwards. Wouldn't surprise me to see them drop off in intensity if they get behind by 12+ with the 2nd half still to play.

Despite being 4th, they're not really in good enough form to warrant resting players. Same as us. We are a lock for the Finals, though yes we do have a home Final to play for, but we could easily rest players this week. But neither team can afford to.

I honestly don't expect us to win the Premiership this year so anything we win from here is a 100% bonus. The Sharks on the other hand are going to need all the form going in that they can muster to avoid being bounced out of the Finals in straight sets under Fitzgibbon for a 3rd straight year. So they had to do what they've done, name as strong a side as they can.

Sorry, forgot about the Roosters Sths game. Roosters should account for Sths even without the 3 outs for them. No different coming 3rd or 4th, but, maybe a trip to Melb isn't ideal. Tbh I'm happy with us coming 5th or 6th, the prospect of slugging it out tooth and nail in the first semi against either Melb or the Riff doesn't fill me with glee.
