Taking now the emotion out of this loss right now I come to a few basic conclusions.

I have already said this and others have said this..we score any point while we had all that possession Canberra don't win, we had our chances but blew it with some very poor play, very hard to watch.

This season is a complete contrast to last, we were winning all the close games last year , now already knights x2 raiders and roosters, all games this year we have lost by very small margins, we win 2-3 of those makes this season completely different. Just one of those seasons this year where the luck is not with us.

We were never going to win this season and now top 8 gone in my eyes. We will finish probably 12th. The hardest thing to take out of everything so far to happen to us this season is that we are only in May and already only a small chance making the 8 and playing September finals footy, so early in the season this hurts the most.

Finally I want to give rap to Joel Thompson,the last 2 weeks he has been hands down the best player on field and finally showing what I thought he would when he was recruited to us this season. Still nowhere in the same stature as BK but he is showing some ticker.

On a positive note. I thought our bench really dug deep tonight. Matty Wright at hooker. Fast becoming my new favourite. There is nothing this bloke can't do.

The other who impressed tonight was Frankinstein. Yeah if he backed himself we win. He also had a few errors and penalties in him. But that had to be his best work rate ever. I get impression, when the game is on the line. He wants to be out there. Which is not most of our team.

Wright is very under-rated---people bag him for being slow but he is a smart jack of all trades player, some of his hitups are under-rated also, even though looking at his running style he looks cumbersome and reserve grade material.

In "some" ways reminds me of Hiku, solid all round player but never sets the world on fire.

But yeah i get why people might think differently, good depth player.

Just got home . It was a great try . That's his 3rd in 12 games and I hope to see more consistency as that is what makes great players . I have always said it as I see it and I never shy away from any confrontation feathered friend.

Bottom line is we are are a young very talented roster with a cosch who is learning and needs to learn quicker or he won’t have a job. For Manlys sake I hope he does learn quicker

We should have never lost that match. And despite what I'll point out below, it was all our fault. We had every opportunity to put them away and we let them off the hook. But....

Why was Hodko put in the bin ? He was offside for your life but it wasn't a professional foul.

And the last pass to Cotric. How far forward does it need to be ?

We can't get Api back fast enough.

Uate rushing in even more than his standard rushing due to Suli backing off and not making a decision.

There was absolutely no reason for uate to come in both times. Suli had his man covered. Uate had a shocker and belongs in the Ron Massey Cup reserves.

Rocks and Diamonds Uate was stone cold again tonight . His defensive reads were diabolical .
We had that game won and to lose it in the dying minutes made me sick in the stomach .
We had two great wins and we were on the way up the table and all has stalled .
We cant afford loses like this if we are to compete for the 8. We need to be more consistent .

Totally agree with you. It was gut wrenching. We need to be consistent and grind out these games or we can kiss this season goodbye. Uate is too hot and cold for my liking. We really missed Api and walker.

Missed the game through work so just watching the replay.
Crucial, nit picking penalty on half time with Frankenstein penalised for offside.
He played absolutely no part in the play that was 25m away, and the ref, theatrically, makes the point of blowing his pea right under the black dot.
Looked for something to penalise and found it.

Good point . Raiders were making mistake after mistake and we just didn't close .
Why?
Well why didn't our captain DCE control the game with the right play/kicking options to take advantage of those Raiders mistakes and close the fcking game ? This is one of the reasons that the QLD selectors over look him.
We had a great lead and then the inconsistent Uate fcked us up with his usual pathetic defensive play that cost us 12 points .
Never the less we still had the game won towards the end but ........
In the end the Raiders kicking game and greater intensity of play proved the difference
