Manase Fainu

We would only need 25 minutes a game for a while , to shift the focus of attack. He is very instinctive .

Reliably informed also that once we get foran , fainu , tom and a good forward pack DCE will improve exponentially so it would be worth it just for that. He is part of a machine but not the START button

The NRL won't budge while he is still charged.
Even if they did, he won't play this season, after 2 years out.
If the DPP position on the case weakens, maybe a return next year.
But then - the other prime suspect is Haumole's brother? Great.

Perspective time

When you look at the benchmark X factor hookers likes of Cheese , Grant , Hodgson , Api, and Cook

We are lacking BIG time in that high class hooker department and Fainu is the player that has the ability to raise our teams standards

The moral of the story
Good enough is never good enough for those that want to excel

When Buzz or Danny have inside info that he is going to play then I will take notice, I don't expect to see him play at least until 2023.
These two would have stories ready to go after reading these forums and use the line its been reported or there is talk of.

hmmm who to leave out, Des loves Walker but last night showed that Walker can't be in the centres, that edge was terrible in defence when Parker went to wing. Dont change a winning structure. It's going to be tough enough when Keppie ad Aloia are back to decide who misses ot. Sirro obviusly but who else? Sipley probably.

I wouldn't play Fainu, I dont think he's needed this season unless there is injuries.

Given the stories, re Big O's brother, I am amazed there isn't at the very least a little bad blood (excuse the pun) between Big O and Fainu and how that impacts on their close group. If these stories have some truth to them.
This has as much worrying news as good.

Fainu in 2019 was simply incredible. If he can recapture that form this season then all of the other sides are in big trouble. I’d keep Croker at 9 because he has been amazing there and deserves it. Fainu in 14 would give Croker a breather during games and will add another dimension to our attack. Other teams found it very difficult to bring Fainu to ground in tackles and it was amazing

You just couldn't restrain yourself, could you!!

Some serious points in that team!

Of course they've applied for an exemption; we knew they would.

Doesn't mean the odds of it being accepted have moved.

When you consider Croker is a better defender and we have no trouble scoring points, I am not as excited about this as maybe I once would have been either.

I'd still prefer him to be available, but I don't think he suddenly increasing our odds of winning the comp. Never thought I'd say this...shows how far Croker has come.
Even if Croker holds down the starting 9 jersey (which would not be a bad move) Fainu surely edges Walker off the bench utility role once he's match fit.

I'm still doubtful of the Fainu rumour, but if true - and if he can quickly recapture some form - I'd say Fainu edges out Lawton. You want impact from bench players.

I’m a big fan of Croker and he remains my number one choice for number 9. I’m really happy for him to be where he is now.

If Fainu is in similar form to 2019 though then he strolls on to my bench easily. If there are question marks on his defence, I look towards one match in particular back in 2019. He played more than 80 minutes as Manly beat Melbourne in Melbourne during extra time and he had some crucial defensive plays that saved that game for us.
