[Resurrected] Lol @ Parra

I'm betting that these guys fight it through the courts (self-interest disguised as "doing it for the club") and it ends up a joke

Why hasnt the NRL retrospectively awarded the Eels with the spoon for 2014 and 2015.

True, they had suspended points didn't they. Perhaps Greenborg didn't want to add to their trophy cabinet?

Consideration was given to the trauma that would cause Cronulla.
Opening up the trophy cabinet and removing the only thing in it would have been emotionally devastating for them.

Parramatta are prepared to give up on this season if Anthony Watmough isn't cleared from the salary cap, with fears the Eels could set themselves back another three years if they shed their best talent to play for points from next week.

The Eels' first priority remains becoming compliant to play for points this season, but are sweating on the NRL to label Watmough's knee problems as a career-ending injury, which would see him exempt from the salary cap and wipe close to $450,000 from the $570,000 they need to shed by next Friday's game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

However, if the request is knocked back, the Eels are weighing up whether to bite the bullet and sacrifice their 2016 campaign in order to keep the bulk of their squad together in the hope of competing for a title next season.

So say parra give up on this year, accept that they're not playing for points, play with a side that is over the cap to risk not losing anyone in their squad, they beat teams that are genuine finals contenders and a team missus out due to the fact parra have cheated what then? How does the NRL look then?

Well Choc won't be playing, but as he will be on their books they won't be able to field another player once they use the annual allowable quota.

Deadbeat is also a risk as he could go back to 'rehab' or wherever he is currently (whilst communicating with all the parties that allegedly led to his ending up drunk and drugged on prescribed drugs).

No matter what, Greenturd is at pains to help Parra stay competitive in 2016😡

From the NRL's statement when they had the 4 point suspended sanction:

He [Dave Smith] said the club would have until 29 February next year to undergo an independent governance review and implement the changes recommended by that review.

This will include a review of the club's organisational capability.

The club must also ensure it does not breach the salary cap rules before 29 February 2016.

If the club fails to satisfy these conditions it will start the 2016 Telstra Premiership on minus four competition points.

It doesn't say the club must not get caught breaching the salary cap rules by 29 Feb... the fact that they lied to the NRL about their salary cap status at that date shouldn't mean that they avoid the penalty. The minus 4 should be retrospectively implemented.

Therefore they should have started on minus 4 as punishment for that indiscretion, then be penalised a further 12 points for the latter indiscretion (as they have been cheating in every match they have played so far this year).

The fact that Choc had well documented knee injuries at Manly before he even contemplated joining the Speels should be taking into consideration by not only the insurers, but also by the NRL.

Dr Bloomfield was our club doctor from 2000 until 2012. Choc made his debut for the Northern Eagles in 2002 so Bloomfield would know (or have notes on) every single injury Choc picked up for the best part of a decade, including knee injuries which he apparently started suffering from in 2010.

The fact that the Speels are reportedly prepared to give up on the season if Choc's knee injury is determined to be something he brought with him from his days at Manly shows that they aren't fully confident that it will be found in doesn't-matta's favour. And if they aren't confident then it also shows that they knew full well about his knee injuries before they signed him.

Essentially they are throwing their eggs in the Watmough injury basket and hoping like hell that it pays off.
Maybe we were wrong about Choc. He has turned out to be a very effective sleeper agent who has detonated in Faecalmatta's faeces, I mean faces.

Like the meme says...'Come on Foz, let's go home. Our job here is done'

So let's say they just sacrifice 2016 and begin all over again in 2017.

They are still banking on Whatamouth's medical retirement and the insurer taking care of his income for the next 2 years. If that doesn't happen, they're wrapped helically around an inclined plane (read SCREWED).

They have a playing roster that already exceeds the salary cap.
Norman wants 800K.
Semi is now and international and he'll want to be upgraded.

Choc holds they key. Go you good thing. Don't retire. Squeeze every last cent out of those slimey barstools.

Oh......and I hate Parramatta.

I could be wrong here regarding Watmough, but my understanding of the situation is that if he was allowed a salary cap exemption by the NRL, firstly they can't disregard what he's been paid up to the present date, but also as he was part of their 25 roster, Parra would have to promote another player into the 25 roster.
So let's say he's on 600,000, he's already been paid half of that, and they then would have to promote someone who may be on the minimum of around 100,000, half of which has already been paid, so Parra would only get around $250,000 salary cap relief, so it looks like they would have to shed around 2-3 players at least of a combined salary of around 1.3 million, to lower their cap by $570,000
I doubt that they could do it given the time frame and the possible reluctance of the players being offloaded, except for Chocco.

I really wanted Norman for us but as long as he has left the slime, I can cop that.

Panthers I don't mind so that's good. Even if it was the roosters or dogs I would've been applauding.

Without Norman, their chances are reduced next year, if true of course.

Go the panthers!

If only they could lose Semi!!! Oh the joy.

Sadly I think the Ol' paper bag has come out again as he's seemingly happy with his $250,000 even though he may get $350,000-$400,000 elsewhere.

I hate to say it but if the guilty club was Manly, Greenturd wouldn't have thrown just a few pages of the book at us. We'd cop the who'd damn State Library.

Do you think if it was Manly, Cronulla, Canberra, Wests, Penrith or even Newcastle that had been cheating the cap for 5 of the last 6 years, that the NRL would have come down so lightly? All would have been hit with Storm like punishment which would have hurt us more as it would have probably seen Manly stripped of the 2011 premiership.

And I still believe that commercial pressure from Channel Nein (as the league's benefactor) and the NRL crapping itself over the fight for fan support with the Wanderers and GWS played a big hand in the lightness of the penalty.

In a nut shell!!

To suit " commercial reasons " and nothing else , sickening really and Toggy Greenslime is front and centre.

This is so sad, my whole footballing life is obsessed with whether the slime bags lose Norman or Radradra!

I'm checking this site as often as I can hoping for confirmation a couple of their bodgy signed players have left.

Norman is one of the main ones I want them to lose as he's been very good for them, Radradra..I would cry laughing over.

Beau Scott has been very good for them to. I wish he'd go.

The other thing about the Watmough drama is Brad Arthur. He was an assistant coach at Manly so he would have known that Choc had his injuries, including the knee.

He would have been given approval by the Speels board to put forward a 4 year deal to Choc, doing so knowing that the guy was busted and would be pushing it to last the 4 years.

So for the media and Speels fans to say that the coach and players had nothing to do with this and it was all their shonky board's fault, to me is just plain bull$hit.

The ARU really want him. Apparently he is under 250k in the NRL, whereas in RU he would be on +800k as according to them, wingers are the stars in RU.

Semi, do it for your Family :lightbulb:

Gould has dismissed the Norman rumours for this year at least.
But he is off contract at the end of 2016@:D
