From what I understand, they can do exactly that - or Parramatta get sued for breach of contract.

This is why a whole lot of players are being paid by more than one club at a time - old club wants to move them on, new club won't pay the full amount, old club has to make up the difference or the player won't agree to release the club from their contractual obligations.

True, so it will not be a simple task. Parra will be negotiating with multiple clubs about multiple players, and the players won't want to be out of pocket. A lengthy process no doubt.

The NRL have admitted that they have been over the cap and therefore have played players illegally. The clubs who play them once they offload players will have the advantage of playing a weaker team. Of course won't happen as Manly is one of the teams disadvantaged.

Another thing. I chuckle at them paying Daniel Harrison under the table. He was really a decent player for us I thought, solid replacement, and I have a lot of time for him.

The eels buried his career, but he still came back and played well for manly in an injury depleted last round game.

One thing I just remembered that should've been a red light for the NRL was when Daniel Anderson asked Foran to renegotiate the contract he had signed with parra for $1,250,000 as it would put them over the cap.

He wouldn't budge and when it looked like he'd leave, parra said sorry, it's all good...your contract won't be amended.

Since then, off the top of my head, they signed Gutherson, Michael Gordon and Michael Jennings. I'm not sure if Beau Scott was after that also.

It showed that parra knew they were over the cap and spent over a million afterwards.

I know all us fans were screaming about their signings but the NRL stuck their heads in the sand, as usual!
