[Resurrected] Lol @ Parra

For those that think Parra can just cut some players on 200k per season to free up space - can not happen, because what some are forgetting is that these players need to be replaced under the cap, and the minimum contract is, I believe, 85k. So, doing that once frees up 115k - they would need to shed 5 players of that ilk to get under the cap (and these players must come from their top 25 players). They are simply going to have to shed a big name or 2. And, like Melbourne, will get the benefit next year and ongoing of their rorting, as they have signed players they had no legal right to sign as they had no room under the cap, yet they will get to keep them.

I can see some players going to one of the few clubs that may have space - the NRL run Titans. No conflict of interest there of course though.
Let's not forget we are at least 1/3rd of the way through the season so no matter who they cut 1/3rd will be in this years cap. What that effectively means is that to get inside the cap this year they will need to cut $750k of contracts to get the $500k off in the remaining 2/3rds of the season. It isn't going to be as easy as everyone says.

The funniest thing of all is that they haven't made the finals since 2009. They can't even cheat properly lol.
I'm not sure what's more lolworthy, Parra's financial cheating fail or Cronulla's systemic doping cheating fail. How bad are you going if you blatantly cheat and still can't win anything ? At least the Storm had something to show for their unethical efforts.

I know thats fake because Steve Sharp isnt smart enough to spell like that.

I don't think it gets any better than this. Wait for the line of solidarity walking on the field, storm style. Ah now they realise the salary cap is in place for a reason. Nice try boys but everyone's a wake up to your deceitful antics. The biggest laugh of all is all the wooden spoons they managed to achieve while they were cheating.

Parramatta Eels take NRL to court over penalties
51 minutes ago
AMY DALE and MICHAEL CARAYANNISThe Daily Telegraph

PARRAMATTA Eels staff at the centre of the salary cap scandal have taken urgent legal action against the NRL over the penalties handed down this morning.

The case is being heard in the Supreme Court by duty judge Justice Rowan Darke and is being brought by at least three plaintiffs - CEO John Boulous, football operations manager Daniel Anderson and current chairman Steven Sharp.

It understood the action was urgently sought following a meeting the Eels board had with NRL CEO Todd Greenberg at 7:30am.

It was announced the morning that the NRL would fine the Eels $1 million, dock them all 12 competition points, strip them of the 2016 Auckland Nines title and sack five club officials as a result of systemic salary cap rorting

The Daily Telegraph understands the club is seeking an injunction because the punishment and sacking causes them to be unable to carry out their functions under the Corporations Act.

Justice Darke noted the matter is being brought “with some urgency”

I wonder what their reaction would have been if the result was the same but they had not been implicated? I bet they would have taken the punishment on the chin

I know we have our issues with zorba but that club is a complete basket case , set up to push some agendas. It is so bad I almost feel sorry for their fans

Is it like the judiciary, can there penalty be increased at the appeal process?
No

But they have 5 days to show proof where the breaches were incorrectly judged.

However, as I just posted, the Board are taking the NRL to Court instead claiming that their livelihood is impacted. Never mind that their Players, Coaching Staff and Members have their only successful season kyboshed 😡

Everytime I close my eyes I see Danny de Vito as the Eels lawyer.

If the members at Parra get 100 signatures and force an AGM, the board will be defending positions they no longer hold.

Are they expecting Parra to pay their legal fees?

The NRL sanction means that they are deregistered and can not work in their realm.

If they lose their Board seats via the voting Members, they would need their own monies to go to court.

Parra Members should flick them ASAP and sue them for failing in their fiduciary duties

That's where I was going.
