[Resurrected] Lol @ Parra

This could all change in 7 days, depending on the lawyers that Parra hire.@

Don't pop the champagne just yet😉
I don't think it'll matter what lawyers they bring in: they've been caught red-handed, and got off fairly lightly.. The longer they fight it will benefit everyone else and they know it..

where are all the parra trolls who insist they come over here for some conversation and not to stir things up?

Dalai arfurs response is straight out of the response textbook 101. dunno what he could've said different but there you go.

So......

At times like this you need real leadership. what inspiring words does the parra captain have?

Listening to the amount of fiscal shenanigans they appear to have got up to, I reckon they've actually got off very very lightly.

Basically this is at least equal to what the purple Scum perpetrated, with more money involved. The biggest difference is RESULTS. Scummos won minor and major premierships whilst they rorted the system and had them stripped: Squeels have won a 9's tournament and two wooden spoons lol..

They should have had this season taken away 100%. The team they have on the field now has been assembled with the use of illegal TPA's and cash payments, giving them a massive advantage in the recruitment market and damaging other club's chances whilst doing so, us perhaps more so than others...

I hope they argue long and hard in court and get smashed in there whilst properly ruining 2016

Part of the penalty is that all Silvertails members get a 24 free pass on one eyed trouser snake to cause havoc and rile the whinging worm fans up till their heads explode.@

And we can't be banned until they're under the cap.......

If the NRL are satisfied he is genuinely retiring due to injury, his contract will not be included in the cap.
Only after he is retired - he has already been paid up to November - March.
Even if you believe that Ross is the cause of his new knee injury, that only happened in February.

Above all else it is just so amusing that systematic cheating of the cap resulted in missing the finals every year.

The Eels...not even competent enough to cheat

what may or may not happen in the future is pure speculation, sort of like the supposed penalty we will be dealt.

what is currently happening is what is actually real. you say parra fans are a bunch of grubs and all sorts of other names yet here is proof that you are no better than anyone else.

you have some great contributors to this site with well thought out comments, the rest of you should hang your heads in shame but i know i won't get much support here, I'm not here for that.

@The Outsider now that the penalty is real and not "supposed" anymore I just wanted to offer my support. RUOK ??

For those of us who think not enough points were deducted from Parra, what about those miserable folk at the RBA, who only knocked 0.25 points (that's quarter of one point) off interest rates !

While I am not sure that 12 points is the correct penalty I do not agree with those calling for zero points as a "precedent" has been set.

A precedent was set when Brett was suspended for 4 weeks after the season launch. Thankfully there seems to be a change in how they handle these cases now as they have learnt from their mistakes.

Time will tell if this is a relevant, accurate, penalty but at least it shows the NRL is looking to change how they handle situations

For those that think Parra can just cut some players on 200k per season to free up space - can not happen, because what some are forgetting is that these players need to be replaced under the cap, and the minimum contract is, I believe, 85k. So, doing that once frees up 115k - they would need to shed 5 players of that ilk to get under the cap (and these players must come from their top 25 players). They are simply going to have to shed a big name or 2. And, like Melbourne, will get the benefit next year and ongoing of their rorting, as they have signed players they had no legal right to sign as they had no room under the cap, yet they will get to keep them.

I can see some players going to one of the few clubs that may have space - the NRL run Titans. No conflict of interest there of course though.

Yeah I just had a rant about that here. 25 does **** all. If they are going to cut they need to save them up and go 50 min. That's an impact cut. Otherwise don't bother. Banks will cry funding costs and not pass it on. Depositors will get the ****s. It's lose-lose...

That's why Easts have never been caught.
The Shoe couldn't save the Eels who - apart from their PR bloke - are run by dummies.
