Umm....the dollar is worth less in QLD because of the whole two-heads virus impacting the local economy. Therefore, 1$ is actually only 5c, so their cap is effectively 1 buulliooon dollars.

I mentioned this earlier, the roll on effect from signing one key player can be enormous.
They got Choc & Norman which helps to get Foran which helps them get Scott which helps them Gordon which helps get Jennings ( not exactly sure of the order but... ) Then when Semi sees these guys on good coin he puts his hand out too.
They would have had to pay overs to entice a few of those players ( and they did with Choc and Foran ) to sign.
$570k is at least one of those players.
Don't tell me the coach wouldn't have an inkling of who's getting what either, surely all coaches have their wishlists knowing full well whether they can fit in under the cap.

Unless another club does them a favour and takes a player along with the responsibility for their salary, the Squeels are toast.

The points are stripped - all zero balance.
Their Ladder points will not record anything till they get under the Cap - currently -570k
Penalty won't kick in for 7 days as Parra have the right of an appeal.
Is it like the judiciary, can there penalty be increased at the appeal process?
