[Resurrected] Lol @ Parra

I hope the tossers @ Parra take ages to admit their cheating ways. Bring in the lawyers to muddy, and slow the whole process down! lol.
....five of the last six? The question has to be asked WTF was Schubert doing all that time, apart from accepting brown paper bags!:swear:
Schubert works for the Eels now!

Honestly this is a good way to deal with it. I don't have a lot of nice things to say about Todd Greenberg over the years but this is a punishment that fits the bill for mine.

A club is only cheating while they're cheating. There's no point wiping out an entire season, after which the roster is fixed to bring the playing group under the salary cap. The board and chairman are replaced, its effectively a gun to their head masquerading as a glimmer of hope. The only thing that bothers me is they are 2 points closer to the teams they beat while cheating than they should be.

Im happy with the decision. Its never going to please everyone.

What I'm not happy with is the answer in question time that players were being handed CASH payments. When asked essentially in brown paper bags the answer was Yes.

Im happy with the penalty overall to the club, but I think there is more work to be done on an individual basis.

They should have been rubbed out this season. The fact they have to sell some players does make the penalty somewhat more worthy.

With losing potentially 3 to 5 players and having to win 12 from 15 its unlikely they will make the 8.

So auction at parra stadium this weekend.

Hit the nail on the head.

If you're getting cash in the proverbial brown paper bag, you know full well it's not legit.

Up there with random $300K speedboats turning up in your driveway. You can be as dumb as a box of hammers, you still know there is no way that's above board.

He's "helping" them sort it all out. Has been since the initial audit occurred. It's ****ed up.
I can imagine.
Schubert: Yeah show em this, shred those, put that cash in a bag and meet players a,b,c over at Wenty leagues car park etc etc...

Any clubs found to have cheated the cap should be required to have the amount they cheated by additionally deducted from future caps (perhaps spread over the same number of years the cheating occurred).

And, if the NRL is serious, they also need to penalise players and player managers (where involved) for any payments outside the cap, and not just the brown paperbag ones. Players and their managers should be required to independently disclose (stat dec) all remuneration and benefits to the NRL. And to update the NRL as changes unfold. And any omissions they also get hit for (suspensions/deregistrations depending on severity). The NRL clearly needs a different strategy to put the brakes on cap cheating.

Arthur is doing a great job of acting shocked too considering it was happening the whole time he was there. Players and the coaches get off too lightly in these situations. The coaches know and the players know. Wilfully accepting players should be suspended.

I wonder how much Aussie Semi took under the table to stay for unders..?

Fundamentally I see where you are coming from, but the reason they should have been rubbed out is because they will keep the good players they acquired illegally and let go run of the mill players. Do you honestly believe Foran would have gone there for $500k less than they are paying him, because that's what they should have had available to offer him. Just like the filthy purple scum they have assembled a team illegally and despite the punishment they will keep it largely intact.

It's complete BS!!!!! The NRL should have forced them to unwind the contracts of the Marquee players they would not have been able to buy in the first place, not dump a bunch of lower graders and certainly not with Choc's dodgy knee insurance claim.

Don't bring Foran in to this. Poor guy only signed because they were a drama free club.

where are all the parra trolls who insist they come over here for some conversation and not to stir things up?

Dalai arfurs response is straight out of the response textbook 101. dunno what he could've said different but there you go.

So......

At times like this you need real leadership. what inspiring words does the parra captain have?

Dennis Fitzgerald was on fox sports, and said fraud chargers would be laid to some board members for cash payments made to some players under the table stuff, also said he couldn't help them if he were in charge cause he believed they shouldn't play finals footy cause it would be an embarrassment to the nrl,and that's coming from one of there own.
