Jamal Fogarty

I fear we will lose one of Walsh or Large if we sign Fogarty for 3 years! 2 years would be acceptable & wouldn’t cause too much angst for Walsh or Large. For mine If they’re good enough then why not take the risk & see what happens. I’d bring JA in at 7, Brooks stays at 6. I’d spend the money strengthening our forward pack. Prep JA to build up over the next year with adapting him to play Lock in 2026. The kid seems happy enough at Manly.
Won’t brooks be gone in 2 years? Meaning potentially Walsh at 7, with large at 14 for a year.

I take your point but what are the odds they both end up stars? At this stage, it’s impossible to say they’ll be anything. We need only look at the Schuster situation as evidence. I know Large seems pretty exciting, he is big and can run 100m in record time. Walsh is largely untried and an unknown that could be a complete flop.

Of course, one of the two might kick on and be something special, or both. We don’t know. But I think we should cross that bridge when we come to it. If they both suddenly explode on the scene, you can bet we’ll shop Fogerty in the third year of his deal if need be. There are way too many unknowns and personally, I want to avoid mediocrity when DCE goes; I think Fogerty’s kicking game could really help.

My question is when are we gunna see them play ? You don't get better by sitting on the longe eating corn flakes. No news from the club, from what I've seen, on where they are or what they're doing FFS.
Maybe we are wrapping them in cotton wool for 2 years to avoid injuries. Given we appear to be banking the clubs future that these 2 guys are any good, seems wise.

Don’t know where to put this, so why not here as an alternative to Fogarty, (before we pay to much and commit for too long) what about Hugo Saval, his only on an 85k development contract.

The chooks have options in the halves, is Daly really going there? Walker can play 6 or 7, but maybe his more of a seven than a six, Sanders is going ok and he looks like a genuine 6, I don’t know much about Elliot, Rodwell or Foley, but there stacked for halves.

Hugo’s seems to have a pretty decent kicking game, his a big body and first grade ready, they probably don’t want to lose him, surely it’s not Chad out, Daly in. This kid wouldn’t break the bank and even if Daly’s not landing there, there still heavy in the halves, especially 7’s.

We shouldn’t go all in after Fogarty, Saval is worth exploring and Sexton remains unsigned, there is options given our situation.

We don't need a rookie we need an experienced game manager, even DCE isn't an great game manager, he plays more like a 5/8.

Yer, I hear you, that’s why I included Sexton as an option, but given Fogarty would be a short term solution, I can’t see how we achieve anything as our pack isn’t going to lay a platform for to manage sh1t.
Would it hurt to go with a Rookie, who seems like he can steer a team, with a solid end of set kicking game, with the extra dollars saved, you know the deal, we have more room to help rebuild up front, that’s where we suck, if we pay to much for Fog and can’t address the obvious short comings, won’t matter how good a game manger Fogarty is.

Exactly. Fogarty is behind a great pack at Canberra. The depth they have is monumental. Tapine, the horse, papalii, young, Nicholson, hosking, Mooney. The list goes on, the Martin boys
