Not anyone's first choice of course, but clearly a better option than Cartwright.

I know most want Toovey or Dollar Des. But That is NOT happening so adjust your expectation to what the Penn's will realistically do.

Surely they would not be so stubborn to give a has been like Sheens the job, instead of reaching out to Des. It beggars belief that there is a bloke the calibre of Hasler who missed finals twice in a 13 year career at 2 clubs 2 premierships, 3 x runners up and for the sake of pettiness won’t extend the olive branch even though they are royally ****ed. Im still convinced that the hatchet job on Des regarding all this backending contracts is a massive beat up.

Ok my read on this is
1: we offered madge massive money to sign with us. It was rejected on the basis he choose his own coaching staff. Cant blame penns for not trying here.
Point 2: In the meeting the other day we were promised manly blood in our coaching staff (Randall, possibly ballin and more to come ) Madge wouldnt have wanted this staff.
We have been crying for manly blood and now we put our foot down against madge and say NO we need/want our manly coaching staff and people still aren't happy!
This has NOTHING to do with our training facilities.
Silver lining is we potentially end up with a coaching structure packed with manly blood! Ill hold my opinion on penns until we finalise our squad and coaching sraff.
They clearly tried and are listening to us but lets see the final outcome b4 judging.

Unfortunately Mark - the horse has bolted - by not allowing him more insight to more say in coaches assistants, he has been circled elsewhere and is over and out.
Manly has never been run like this in my 40 years as a supporter....Arko would had Barrett gone 6 months ago and Maguire would have signed the dotted line over a month ago.
Now a case of a last ditch attempt on Sheens, Griffin or get stuck with Carty.

And Arko would not have re-signed Cartwright and Ferris this year either

What self respecting coach would come here and have Cartwright and Ferris as support staff? Penns no doubt want to keep them to save more contract payouts for these two

The Penns have totally stuffed this club

They need to sell to URM/Kaspersky ASAP before the club dies

Robbo makes a good point though - everyone says they want Ballin etc in the coaching system, but this would not happen if Maguire got the gig.

I believe walters was always being groomed as Bennett's successor.
Once he knew his time was up with the Broncos he made life difficult for walters, hence him quitting as assistant.

Yes I do believe quotes from a person if it was a lie Madge would have refuted it. Do I trust journos no but I trust quotes attributed to named person. But keep believing Cleary or Madge is joining us and blame the media when it doesn't happen.
