The Dayshift Dribblers will be mortified! They are waiting with arms wide open to welcome Prodigal Son Trent back into their bosom. Penn needs to deliver one hell of a knee trembler to get Des back in the tent.

Well lets hope he can swallow and spit and polish. The supporters of this great club deserve a lot more than the piss and wind that him and Lyall dish out, and we need some blooming hope in order to continue our fragile support going forward. Simply, all we want to know is WTF is going to improve for next year!

1 final point Carty was last a first grade coach in 2014 yes he has been an assistant since but driving the bus is different than being a passenger. 2019 5 years since his only gig at the titans ended, the game has passed Carty by as a coach and he wasn't that good to start with.
But Penn told us all at the meeting when discussing coaching “we’ll be happy” ok Scott good luck with the membership drive when you trot out carty as coach.
Trying to stay positive but it's becoming impossible with the people in control of our club.

No chance I’m going to be parting with a single dollar next season... regardless of how much Penn and co slash membership/entry prices. Obviously, the headline regarding Madge wanting his own people is on the money because he’s been negotiating for weeks and already knew what facilities the club has available. We are a joke... not even prepared to fork out on a professional coaching team. If Carty is the proven performer Scotty promised us, then stick a fork in Mr Penn and our season.

I 100% agree !!! If the penns think appointing Carty will improve anything then they are dumber than I thought ! We need change Hasler and Toovey both want the job why just ignore that swallow your bloody pride and give them a call ! If we sign carty it will be the final nail in the coffin ! I love my manly and all I want to see is us be a premiership force again !

Same as he always felt here...maybe a little worse now his drinking buddy Barrett is gone.

He didn't want to work at Manly, which he has made obvious at times.

Sure, he will take the head coach job (and do it poorly because he doesn't give a flying f##k or have any REAL ability) for 2 years because it will come with a pay upgrade and if he has any brains whatsoever he knows this is is last gig...period.

It appears that when Penn stated that he had hoped it would have been finalised before the big meeting yesterday that he was referring to Madge's acceptance.

I think Penn thought hew had Madge.

The coach would not be as big a deal if our roster were going into 2019 with a good coaching base, spirit, commitment and desire, but they are going in with the polar opposite.

If he doesn't suck it up real quick and call Tooves we are royally ******.

I am struggling to recall a time where I felt less positive about the future of the once mighty Manly Sea Eagles. Cartwrong as coach is just the icing on a cake made of a big pile of sh*t.

From top to bottom we are a complete basketcase. I guess it should be no surprise that quality coaches or players wont join us.

I thought we couldn't get much lower than 2018 but it looks like in 2019 we'll be looking back at 2018 fondly on the 7 games we won.

Until the Penns are gone we can't think about bringing the mighty back into the Sea Eagles. It's so bad that even the **** work experience coach Barrett quit on us. Can anyone remember the last time an NRL coach actually quit?

I would say that Maguire was all set to come to us, however everything has now changed with the Panthers signing up Cleary, which probably means his position at the Tigers has now become untenable, and the Tigers will release him try to get Wayne Bennett, which is a very good chance of that happening, which leaves us with the question,, who will Brisbane look for? there's Barrett and there's Maguire, and they would prefer a non rookie coach such as Barrett,and if you were Maguire who would you go for, Brisbane or Manly?, and the answer is simple.
We are the victims of a situation were we still have to sort Barrett out, and also this domino effect of Cleary and Bennett.

The Maguire deal was 3rd base and heading for home - this really is the stunner deal and shows what type of monkeys are running the circus....the Barrett furniture thing was a comedy but the request from Maguire which will come out was standard

Ok my read on this is
1: we offered madge massive money to sign with us. It was rejected on the basis he choose his own coaching staff. Cant blame penns for not trying here.
Point 2: In the meeting the other day we were promised manly blood in our coaching staff (Randall, possibly ballin and more to come ) Madge wouldnt have wanted this staff.
We have been crying for manly blood and now we put our foot down against madge and say NO we need/want our manly coaching staff and people still aren't happy!
This has NOTHING to do with our training facilities.
Silver lining is we potentially end up with a coaching structure packed with manly blood! Ill hold my opinion on penns until we finalise our squad and coaching sraff.
They clearly tried and are listening to us but lets see the final outcome b4 judging.

Unfortunately Mark - the horse has bolted - by not allowing him more insight to more say in coaches assistants, he has been circled elsewhere and is over and out.
Manly has never been run like this in my 40 years as a supporter....Arko would had Barrett gone 6 months ago and Maguire would have signed the dotted line over a month ago.
Now a case of a last ditch attempt on Sheens, Griffin or get stuck with Carty.

I don’t think I’m spot on at all but we get very worked up on here about whatever the media hacks print , BUT 50% or more of it never comes to fruition!!

Official club announcements are the only ones fair dinkum.

But, if true it’s looking more than grim for our club.
