Get them out of the club asap

Yeah, Nah ... I tend to take each issue on it's merits ....

Unlike some petticoat wearing bedwetters that rely on the comrades to provide the ideology ... and this weeks group think ..

.. which is probably why you can't see the difference between standing up for people's freedoms in a Democracy ... and being opposed to gangs and gang violence ..
What are these "people's freedoms" of which you speak? They are not contained in our constitution. We do not have a bill of rights in this country. And a democracy is quite simply a system of government.
These 'freedoms' are simply a construct of Fox News.

Yes, Democracy is a form of Government, but a critical part of it is the rule of law, and the independence of the Judiciary.

Our freedoms are ensconced in the Laws of the land ...

... and an employer would have no more legal right to make, or expect you to wear a Fred Nile t-shirt ... than an employer has to make someone wear a Rainbow jersey. ..

OMG, you lot aren't still carrying on about the bloody rainbow jersey are you?

'Freedoms', as you all like to vaguely call them, can only be guaranteed in a Constitution or a Bill of Rights. Laws can be changed by the political class.

You can't keep making stuff up to suit your argument.

I suppose you can, but it denies you logical discussion.

Yes, but in a Democracy if a government enacted laws that were not approved of by the majority of Australians ... they would be voted out ...

And what is my lot ?

What stuff did I make up ?

Like a quick google search shows about 4 million results about individuals and their journey with homosexuality amd religion.

Absolutely ducking deluded.

Before 1967 " Democratic enacted laws" said that Indigenous Australians didn't deserve the right to vote and earlier they had to swim in separate pools. Thankfully, nowadays we've moved past those draconian laws. I think most sane-thinking Australians recognize that sometimes we need to embrace change to support those who aren't being given a fair go. If that makes us "bed-wetters" or "petticoat wearers" then so be it.

@Andrew.. yeah good point we have come along way. You know some people believe that the focus on the holy 7 and this most recent issue that involves Polynesian players is ironically racist. I understand this is not the intention….though but food for thought. A regular poster expressed this recently insinuating a white bias i.e. a preference for white players by forum members. This initially blew me away and after thinking about this for sometime I can kind of understand how someone could feel this way. Again I know it is not intentional but after reading posts saying thier religous beliefs or traditional values are not ideal etc and the focus on the on their subculture i can again empathise with this sentiment. Happy to agree to disagree but I think this issue is a storm in a tea cup. Post try celebrations etc and the moralising that has followed. If any of players in the team despite there background are actually directly involved in criminal activity I certainly want the police to deal with it immediately but in regards to our top 30 I don’t enough about the other grades I understand this is not even remotely the case…

I am not a Des fan due to the events of post-GF 2011 but I agree that Des shoulders no blame for this situation and has played the cards he was dealt well...
I am not on board with some of his team selections but we imo we have much bigger issues at this club than the coach right now...
Agree, and yes, des’s team-selection definitely can be frustrating!

Ok well I'm not seeing too many postcode gang signs coming out of Seaforth , Curl Curl or Mona Vale.
Oh and it’s obvious you know naught about the issue. Guildford and Blacktown aren’t the same suburb.

The players “throwing postcode gang signs” were signed before we were even associated with Blacktown. They’re juniors you goose.

100% agree. Get rid of the lot of them. Make a stand, and let everyone know, the lines of command here mean something. Don't give one **** about potential, ability or whatever. We are seeing a fractured group right now who just had over 40 slammed past them by the Titans FFS.

I'd rather watch talentless players busting their arse (like we did many years ago), and build from there (who are of amazing character.)

I'll accept losing (if it comes with passion and heart). These sheep (followers) inspire literally nothing.

My use of a petticoat has actually helped me to resolve my bed-wetting issues. You'd be surprised how useful they are!

In this day and age if we offload 1 than the rest will spit the dummy, break their contracts and get signed by the tigpies, GC or Souffs...
Only problem I see is that we would probs end up paying part-contracts because we have some on too much coin...
The club is obviously not going to do this tho because they just extended Saab for another 3 years and surely that would have been put on hold if they were considering a clean out...
Good points and part of the problem in offloading them or even any of the underperformers on the team

I highly doubt you would accept losing no matter the quality of the individual.
You would be the first during and after every game bagging the coach, the players, recruitment and questioning why we are recruiting reserve graders.
I think you may have actually done that in the past.....

Maybe the way to expedite it all would be to put very strict measures in place which would have their managers asking for a release?
Gotta feel for Tony Mestrov. No doubt he thought he was headed into a bit of a storm but turns out it's a tsunami. Poor bugger. Hope he is all he's cracked up to be.
it is a total mess and yes he is going to earn his bucks.

Hi....that was me I believe,I will not name certain posters by name, but there are a number that through volume and aggression of posts have been very unhappy with the Islander influence at Manly and there are racist undertones.
It is not just this issue but through past threads etc.....
If you choose to not believe it,that is your choice,I am sure no one on here really admits to being a casual racist.
Not saying at all or implying it is you,but if you think that of all the people on this forum that there are zero racists then sorry, but you are being slightly naive.
There are rent a crowd types that latch onto an issue if it serves their agenda, that is reality.

Smokin', as I stated, we went through it before. Witt, Ferris, Mullane, Winter, and it was some of the best times as a fan ever. Complaining was part of it, yes.

Anyways, maybe you're happy with the way things are as they stand, and that's good for you mate. I'm glad you're enjoying the current state of the club.

You can't come back and say you don't, because you've had a go at me for doing so, or it would make you look a bit hypocritical ?
