Get them out of the club asap

More absolute dribble. Harper, Taupau & others played. I haven't read ONE person adapting a non-polynesian stance. They are against gang type behaviour (as every normal person is), and they are talking about players supporting a convicted felon, but refusing to wear in inclusivity jersey.

That's what I've been reading.

Think about the rosters that have recently been broken down and rebuilt. What are their outlooks now ?

I've seen players like TPJ, McCullough, Lodge, Hunt and many, many more bigger name players be let go.

Look at The Dogs now. Washed away the crap that was Hasler and Barrett there, on the improve, a rheem of new players turning up next season and possibly the most highly rated unsigned coaches in the game.

People are naturally afraid if change. I get that. But sometimes change is necessary. We look stale. We look fragile. We look divided and unhappy. What's out outlook for next season ? I don't see improvement (losing Foz, Walker, Taupau, Davey & others, and none coming in).

The players basically revolted against a decision the club's made. That speaks volumes about the culture mate.

Trent Robinson clearly stated his players agreed they'd all wear an inclusivity jersey if their club adapted the approach.

But we are even worse. Players making gang signs. Players attempting to murder people.

Then that's backed up (in Des latest tenure) of terrible results (worst ever against 4 teams), and a .400 record.

How much worse does it have to get before we agree more needs to happen ?

But lastly, I reiterate, I don't see ONE racist person on this board. I really don't mate, and I'd defend any connotation of any of our board members being accused of one.
Again,it is opinion,not fact.
We will look at it differently, you want to tear it down and hope it will be built better.
The Dogs example is poor, they tried to rebuild and got it wrong and now they are trying again and with no guarantees.
Robinson saying his players would have no problems is easy to say when at this point there is nothing to back it up with.
There is a divide with the playing group at the moment over an issue but some try to work through it and mend rather than throw everything out and hope for the best.
We view it differently and that is probably how it will stay, all the best to you anyway.

Hi....that was me I believe,I will not name certain posters by name, but there are a number that through volume and aggression of posts have been very unhappy with the Islander influence at Manly and there are racist undertones.
It is not just this issue but through past threads etc.....
If you choose to not believe it,that is your choice,I am sure no one on here really admits to being a casual racist.
Not saying at all or implying it is you,but if you think that of all the people on this forum that there are zero racists then sorry, but you are being slightly naive.
There are rent a crowd types that latch onto an issue if it serves their agenda, that is reality.

Name some names mate or take this dribble somewhere else. If you want to call posters out for being racist you better bring more than snide insinuations to the table.

Agree.

Name names, or we are all guilty by association.

When I first read about this my first reaction was denial but Perception has a reality behind it whether we like or not. I don’t think it would help at all by naming names and going down a retrospective path… I think we should at a minimum have a higher awareness of this and look out for posts that could be conceived in this way or be a little bit more thoughtful when posting especially about passionate topics… I honestly hope I never see a post that has racist undertones but I know I can’t pretend it’s not possible or hasn’t happened before.

Not an easy topic to get a general consensus on but plenty of measured and pertinent outlooks and opinions and probably reflective of what would be the range of current society views on such a subject . Again good range of interesting posters at the moment but would have been good also to have the likes of Yokohantus ? and Manly 76 to express some opinion . Haven "t noticed them on this site in ages and do miss their input in general and certainly hope that they are doing well in whatever their current lot in life is

I have to disagree @Red Pill it's put up or shut up time on these insinuations. If anyone wants to throw stuff like that out, than it really needs to be backed up.

I can’t speak for others but personally, having Manly infiltrated by this nonsense is really sad and compels me to spend time on other things and lose interest…so anyone suggesting that it doesn’t have an impact…I think I’m living proof and I’m sure there’s more like me out there. This isn’t my club.
If we had owners who knew how to steer a ship, we wouldn’t be in any questionable predicaments like we have been of late 😉

Hi Snake, feel your pain, my concern is that it is not yet just a Manly problem versus a NRL issue. Personally think we should have player managers attend a BBQ where we can hold them to account about what is right versus how much they make as a percentage just before we cook them on the BBQ. These players look for the $'s, they have a working lifespan, but doing this they miss character, honour, loyalty, discipline. Then we have the cultural issues of wanting to belong because they forgot the previous and then form gangs. Here is another issue... after a game how unfrequently are players praying with other team players... what are they praying for - we played like **** please forgive us or thank you for us to defeat the other teams....I'm a Christian but I don't get it? Players are told by managers they can still look for better offers whilst under contract and the easy way out is to play sh*t.

The game is out of control.

They seriously need a reality check.

All our views are subjective.

Heres my take in hindsight

API was a keeper,

Manase was to be a star, Stabbing or not if your at NRL level he should not have been part of the debt collectors and jumping fences in the first place.

you expect family and friends to support u matter what, that's why u love them vice versa.

who are we to judge , we all grow up make mistakes some big some small, key is to learn from them.

We can't change what's happened, let's stop crucifiying our players who have tried hard on the field for us fans to have moments of joy.

I have called stuff out in the past,go through it mate.
I will compose a list of my thoughts if you like when I have time and pm it to you.
You can decide to go from there

Would you feel the same if the victim was your mother or girlfriend ? They were stabbed in the back for no reason, then slashed across the face for good measure? Would it still be, "stop crucifying our players" then?

Or is that different?

At no point would I support that act no matter who the victim is. It's matter of bad choices they have made , it's done it can't be changed.

So what would you like done to a person who did that to your mother and/or girlfriend ? Like what punishment ?

Secondly, how would you feel then about the guilty perpetrators team mates sending them support on social media and television?

You honestly see why people are up in arms about this right? Take AWAY the fact these same players refused to wear the inclusivity jerseys.

I believe that every one has a right to express their views
I've said this before, while I understand their support for their friend, the time to express it is not while they're engaged in their very highly paid job and representing their employer on national TV. Their time during games belongs to their employer and for the large sums of money paid to them they're expected to represent the company in the best way possible. Gangster sh1t wouldn't be included under their terms of employment

Some alternative views to your points. Please excuse my paraphrasing.

It this was done to your mother or wife, how would you feel?

Very angry to the point my judgment might not be as objective as it should be. This is why we have the legal , court system. These systems are however not perfect.

How would you feel about the guilty parties friends sending them support in public settings?

It depends if they were showing support for the actual crime it itself or thier friend. It’s technically not illegal to do this you know. ( show support for a friend) Some argue that its more of a condition of employment not legality… but the law does protect people against over reach by employers that may inhibit a persons freedom. Your know Israel Folau was paid out big $$$ by Australian Rugby as they did not want that case to go to the high court. I.e rugby Australia sacked him for his controversial social media posts. It’s also worth noting the public support Israel received… I mean large donations to fight his case..

I see you and others are up in arms because you are passionate about protecting the perceived integrity of the club and the game amongst other things. Imo this is noble and understandable but it should not limit individual freedoms imo. I get the impression there are some on here that would happily trade in some personal freedoms for the subjective idealistic utopia they would like to see imposed. Lovers of Comrades they are 🙂
