I dont assess players on the basis of being a 'fan boy' as is suggested and I suspect many who think he's going OK also share that position. Hard as it may sound, I'm only interested in their performance on the field. Again there's this tendency to diminish others opinions when they don't suit your own. That's myopic.

I've always considered Walker our best centre and that's based on past observations. Its an opinion but it isn't because I have the hots for the player. I didn't think he handled five eighth that well and I said that (obviously forgotten by some). I wasn't sure about his role as a utility, and he's had a few games where he was seemingly struggling. But some games recently have said to me he's gaining in skill, and quite frankly against St George he had a top game in my opinion...not because I like him as I don't see players in that manner...but because the performance as I saw it was good. Now his previous match wasn't as good.

Sometimes I thing there are those calling the kettle black as they say. They seem to have a personal dislike of certain players and that influences how they see their play. Its an emotional rather than purely observational perspective. As for Parker, he's improved this year, thanks a lot to being given more room by Foran, Turbo and Schuster. And he always seems to give his best so I certainly have no issues about him being retained.

Its not personal. If it becomes personal your perspective is coloured.

Serious question for those who think Walker is a top player at the moment,
On 2021 form:
Which other NRL player do you compare him to?
Which player is he most like?

I'm interested to know because I don't see what y'all seeing and this might help to comp him to similar players.

Connor Watson.

Except Connor has a better passing game. Also has better pace and elusivity.

And a much better moustache.

40 you're expressing an opinion and claiming everyone agrees with you.
No, not at all buddy. My opinion is just that, an opinion...and carries the same value as everyone else's. The for/against opinions of Walker's value appear to be pretty well split down the middle to me and each seem to be very passionate about their view and won't be changing it anytime soon.

I’m guessing your comment is in response to some of my so called cheap responses as a number of my posts have been moved to ‘trash talk’…..it’s ok for certain posters to constantly trash talk Walker, Sironen, Suli but it’s not ok for posters like me to defend them & have an opinion. I’m a trash talker yet the posters who are actually trashing players get the green light. I guess this is my cue to say sayonara to Silvertails. Been interesting….
Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, as every player has their supporters and their detractors. Haven't noticed any of your posts specifically and certainly don't recall moving any to Trash Talk as you claim.

No one. Walker is Walker. He who runs.:p
A Warning to all opposition players when Walker has his day in open play

Join me feathered friends .... lets sing

Walkers boots are made for running
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days Walkers boots are gonna run all over you

I honestly don't get it.

When Dylan played his specialist position for us (centre), he dominated. People say to me, but is he great there "anymore"? Who knows, because we haven't seen it in an age. We've seen him play fullback, 5/8 and halfback in that span.

Still so young at 26.

From 2014 - 2017 he played nine representative games for his state, nation and all stars event - at centre (and again, dominated). He's won a grand final there.

Brad Parker is a decent centre (bordering good). Don't think anyone is disputing that (or his attributes) apart from maybe a little inconsistency here and there (and jumping for a high ball).

I think what often happens, when you have a very lean period results wise, when things turn around (even for a very short term), people latch onto what's in the present (and sometimes reactionary contracts are offered etc). Just because things have improved, shouldn't mean we can't shoot for great and amazing. If your depth at centre is Brad Parker as a club, you are doing fantastic.

The best two centres at our club "in my opinion" are Morgan Harper and Dylan Walker (jeez, like I said he won a grandfinal there with the Bunnies).

The problem is there's a few that don't like him because of his stigma off the field, and they carry that into what he's like as a footy player.

The problem is not the ones on here that do not like him

Dylan has created his own problems and disruptions to our club and his playing ability because of his issues

The Good news is that he is a good guy and a talented fast guy who is heading in the right direction

Still so young at 26.

At 26 a player is reaching his prime . Prime time Rugby league for Walker and the best is yet to come

He'd be pretty damned happy looking down mate (which I hope he is). God will have a special spot for him, in the commentators box in heaven.
