'ex' Barrett's Bulldogs

I think the hate for Baz is justified...

He walked out on our club for no other reason than an over inflated ego. He thought he was too good for us and believed that our failures were independent of his coaching...he is a quitter.

He has a great football budget to work with and a host of big name recruits and he is failing miserably. Karma is biting him hard.
Even worse

He walked out because manly were done with him and he wanted to save face

Then he claimed manly’s success in 2019 after we flipped from 15th (and luckily not the spoon thanks to the eels) to the verge of the top 4 under des. Lucky the media laughed it off

Hope T Baz signs a 10 year deal with the Dogs... I'm loving the soap opera .. GOLD
Baz has NO IDEA , but at least he fills out his shirt well... LOL

They were a really good side...
we cant keep making mistakes to a team like that...
we had that try just before half time that really killed us...
we gave away to much good field position...
we will be better for the run and learn some lessons from that...
we need to be better...
I can see good signs, we just need a little time and we get some quality back
blah blah..

what he really should be saying is " Do I look good on camera" next

The look on Jacksons face is priceless.. listening to the same old same old .. excuse after excuse..

One journo throws some half back stats at him and he just sits there blank faced, the journo basically asked "do you think your getting enough good ball to your half backs" as he also elluded that teh dogs forwards were taking the ball one up too often... Baz's response ...NO and gets up .. walk out.. happy to sit and waffle on but as soon as a technical question is posses relating to his coaching.. he answers bluntly, smirks and walks off..

Now what the journo was getting at is that your main playmaker , your halfback is only getting 25 to 30 touches per game, If you average that each team gets between 30 and 40 sets per game how do you score points if your half back touches the ball less than ONCE per set?? Anyone.

against the Panthers the dogs had 37 sets, they completed 24 sets and their half touched the ball 21 times ( IN TOTAL)

In comparison Panthers had 45 sets , completed 36 and Cleary touches the ball 68 times
Yeah and his side is not performing well enough for him to be smug in press conferences. Sounds like the journo knows more about coaching than he does.

Gould really has given me the sh*ts on 100% Footy the last couple of weeks. A really angry grumpy arrogant disinterested panel member. I used to respect his footy knowledge but he is now fitting in really well as part of the Bulldogs.
I use to find Gus's opinions of interest too but he's turned into an angry, grumpy and super arrogant panel member on 100% Footy.

Surprise surprise Gus was missing from the show last night and, to make it more mysterious, nothing was said about his absence. I wonder if he rubbed more viewers than just us the wrong way with his attitude. Maybe its a conflict of interest after admitting last week to controlling Barrett and the Dogs' team selections.

(Cam Smith replaced Gus, which was left field but a change from hearing Gus grumble on.)

Just think about this.

Trent Barrett coached a side that had Tom Trbojevic (22), Jake Trbojevic (23), Daly Cherry-Evans (24), Addin Fonua-Blake (24), Martin Taupau (24), Trent Hodkinson (13), Akuila Uate (15) and Dylan Walker (14). All rep players (brackets donate games played in 2018).

And he took them to within a poofteenth of a wooden spoon.

That about says it all.

He's got Covid I read, knocked him for six apparently. Triple vaxxed and all

Throw Koroisau in there too.

As of yesterday, Zoolander has coached the Dogs in 29 games.

And won just 4 of them.

That's a whopping 13.79% winning percentage. Is it any wonder Gus Gould has been forced into playing Puppet Master???
And the great Dean Pay's record!!!!!!!!!

2018–20Canterbury Bulldogs
coached57
won19
draw0
lost38
win % 33

Now I'm more a lover than a maths guy but 13.79% v 33%???? what's wrong with this picture?

Correct me if I'm mistaken but TB now has 28 games to equal Dean Pay's matches in charge. To even equal DP in the wins column TB will need to win 15 of those matches..... chances?

I'm surprised he didn't finish off with "Gus, is that what you wanted me to say, did I miss anything ?"

...and didn't he tell Nicho Hynes that he didn't see a future for him here?

I almost hope the Dogs can jag a win or 2 soon as that will ensure the Barrett can-I-please-select-the-halfback-this-week-pretty-please circus will roll on all year.
Although if they continue to lose I shan't be too disappointed :giggle:

I could but it feels a bit redundant. If it mean if it are to do with the storm, I feel like technical coach would have it sorted
With apologies to ‘Top Cat’ and with respect for Technical Coach’s impressive analytical abilities:

Tech Coach!
The most effectual!
Tech Coach!
Who's intellectual!*
Close friends get to call him "T.C.,"
Providing it's with dignity!

Tech Coach!
The indisputable leader of the gang.
He's the boss, he's a VIP, he's a championship.
He's the most tip top,
Tech Coach!

Yes, he's the chief, he's a king,
But above everything,
He's the most tip top,
Tech Coach!

Tech Coach!

Your missing the main point. Trent looks way more the part then what Dean Pay does. The moral of the story is that there is no denying the power of blue steel.

Or is it that they have talent but you can't buy a team?

While I haven't played competitive sport for many years now I do know that losing sucked. Surely that feeling doesn't go away?!?! So many of these players seem to be mercenaries, or maybe they were made to look superior based on the people they were surrounded by, and they were good enough to be supporting roles, but in this team they are all expected to be leading lights. Something individually they are not yet mature enough or capable enough to be...time will tell

As a bloke who doesn't hate Barrett he has plenty to do with his situation
Barrett's makes 101 excuses after EVERY game, making his attempt to coach unfitting and the players have no accountability and will only go backwards and lose belief that can not be won back.....his credibility is shot.
Someone mentioned a talent scout type role, this will soon be his only option

Yeah you never hear him say ‘not good enough’ as it’s always ‘we’re building’ and ‘just need a bit of luck’ etc.
