'ex' Barrett's Bulldogs

If the Dogs had half a brain between them in the boardroom they would have gone after Fitzgibbon when he was available. He'd have that squad pushing for the top 4.

What a dick is Phil Gould. Not too many Barrett fans around here, but talk about throwing your under-pressure coach under the bus...

He said this, on the controversial selection of Flanagan this week: “It’s not Trent Barrett who has made a decision on when he comes back to first grade. Trent wanted him in the side, but he came and asked me for permission to do it. I could have easily said no if I didn’t think he was ready. I said yes.”

He has to ask for Gould's permission? Wow

But then foxsports said this about last night's game:

All the talk during the week was about Flanagan’s return to the side after he fell out of favour with Trent Barrett after moving from the Roosters last season.

So which is it? Barrett wanted him in, or Barrett wanted him out? (do the hokey pokey and...)

I mean I was placed on garden leave for resigning just over a week ago so I've forgotten what day it is, and I feel like we all need that kind of chill

I don't think posters have registered this yet......

SILVERTAILERS....

If you want Dan to do something with the site...ASK HIM NOW

He's obv got nothing to do!

I have about 3-4 things but he's able to white noise me out.. lol

Gee isn’t all this a nice problem not to have. Barrett is like one of those movies that is supposed to be really good. I mean the biggest budget the best special effects, great actors.. gee even blue steel etc but somehow ends up in spite all of this …..a crap movie.

Gould really has given me the sh*ts on 100% Footy the last couple of weeks. A really angry grumpy arrogant disinterested panel member. I used to respect his footy knowledge but he is now fitting in really well as part of the Bulldogs.
Think it's the only NRL related show he's on now....he looks all all smug and sanctimonious these days.

Any one read any good posts on “The Kennel” after yesterday??

It must be blowing up over there
Here's some gems
"Every player we have brought to the club has gone backwards since Barrett arrived.

If Barrett was Georgallis, he’d be sacked by now.

Overrated is an understatement. The guy is out of his depth.

We are wasting yet another season. Move him on now, I say."

"Unless we’re versing the tigers 8 times I struggle to see us winning 10 games"
"Zero innovation in his coaching , he’s trying to play a safe game without utilising his teams strengths which are obviously limited by the 5 hit ups for a bomb game plan .

Kicking tactically for JAC and Dufty to utilise their speed would be a huge improvement but seems like he’d rather JJ took another run for 5 mtrs on the fourth very set:"

My favourite though is

"If people cannot see that we are scoring on par with last year with a VASTLY DIFFERENT SQUAD... with MUCH better players in certain positions.. then you are deadset blinder than Andrew Johns the day after he was ushered into a room full of piss and pingers.

For those who are still not following.. let me lay it out for you.

Different year. Different team. Same coach."

Makes some of our posters seem totally calm

Baz was a crap player and even crapier coach. His only skill is making drinking buddies at the pub. Give it up Trent.

But if you ask the Baz sympathisers on ST, at Manly it’s cause he didn’t have a sprint coach and a brand new weights room… and cause his family had to clean the change rooms.

But now with money being thrown at him by one of the largest clubs in the comp - he still is a pathetic coach.

As of yesterday, Zoolander has coached the Dogs in 29 games.

And won just 4 of them.

That's a whopping 13.79% winning percentage. Is it any wonder Gus Gould has been forced into playing Puppet Master???

To be fair one of those wins was one of the greatest wins of all time (as described by Baz).

I guess Gould is selling a 5 year plan to the dogs board. To be fair the dogs have had a tough draw so far this year. I get the feeling that another couple of losses will be like quick sand for them though i.e. they will never recover. You need to be a hard arse stoic to successfully turn a team around in this position. Surely Gould would know Barrett is far from a hard arse stoic. Also have heard Gould can be quite ruthless when it comes down to it. I guess he will need to be. If I were them I would go after Flanagan. But kind of hoping Trent stays there as long as possible. I dislike the dogs far more than Barrett.

Hope T Baz signs a 10 year deal with the Dogs... I'm loving the soap opera .. GOLD
Baz has NO IDEA , but at least he fills out his shirt well... LOL

They were a really good side...
we cant keep making mistakes to a team like that...
we had that try just before half time that really killed us...
we gave away to much good field position...
we will be better for the run and learn some lessons from that...
we need to be better...
I can see good signs, we just need a little time and we get some quality back
blah blah..

what he really should be saying is " Do I look good on camera" next

The look on Jacksons face is priceless.. listening to the same old same old .. excuse after excuse..

One journo throws some half back stats at him and he just sits there blank faced, the journo basically asked "do you think your getting enough good ball to your half backs" as he also elluded that teh dogs forwards were taking the ball one up too often... Baz's response ...NO and gets up .. walk out.. happy to sit and waffle on but as soon as a technical question is posses relating to his coaching.. he answers bluntly, smirks and walks off..

Now what the journo was getting at is that your main playmaker , your halfback is only getting 25 to 30 touches per game, If you average that each team gets between 30 and 40 sets per game how do you score points if your half back touches the ball less than ONCE per set?? Anyone.

against the Panthers the dogs had 37 sets, they completed 24 sets and their half touched the ball 21 times ( IN TOTAL)

In comparison Panthers had 45 sets , completed 36 and Cleary touches the ball 68 times

I think the hate for Baz is justified...

He walked out on our club for no other reason than an over inflated ego. He thought he was too good for us and believed that our failures were independent of his coaching...he is a quitter.

He has a great football budget to work with and a host of big name recruits and he is failing miserably. Karma is biting him hard.
