Firstly, Chez only got his inflated contract due to Manly wasting all their time trying to seduce Deadbeat from Dalai.
Chez was ready to sign on for 700k, till his original offer was withdrawn by Joker. He said this on a couple of interviews himself 😕

Secondly, the Teams that JT is blessed to play in, are far superior to any that Manly have managed to field

Hopefully the Manly resurgence is now on and we can delight in the next great Manly half pairing

I disagree with that. The original assessment was 1 million even. Either way, if you sign a contract earning you 1.3 million per, for 8 years or something, you'd have to understand the pressure that goes along with that.

Forget football - look at any industry.

If you think Manly says to DCE, "look mate, you're only really worth 1 mill per in our opinion's, and it was out stuff up that you ended up for signing for 300k more per year, so you don't have to worry about being our best player anymore, your kidding.

DCE is supposed to be our best player, week in, week out, and without excuses. Listen to JT's interview's. "I need to be better". "I need to lead us around the park better". "That's not good enough for me".

He doesn't tolerate mediocrity.

End of the day, the results have done the talking. Myles has been dumped from International Football (and I also feel SOO may be gone now), so to has the leagues highest paid player in DCE - not SOO, not Australia - no-one. Not even finals football last season.

As fans, we should show him the respect to demand/expect the best out of him wek in/week out. I honestly think making excuses, and juyst accepting he is out of form isn't giving him the justice he deserves.

He needs to be miles better. The results, and his rep selection (or lack there of) shows exactly why and how.

This is rubbish, DCE got what he peraded around for... Massive coin, and JT for the most of his career has been playing with a busted ass team..... But week in and week out gave no excuses and pushed himself, because he knew he was on the coin that comes with the responsibility to produce. DCE could learn a lot from looking back on JT career as he is all class and worth every cent he's received, he's an asset to the game on and off the field. DCE is miles behind a lot of halves in our comp at this point in time.... You got to wonder if the club has KPI included into his contract..... Causes he's not even worth half what he's getting now.

DCE should be one of the best. He's not that disabled kid at school, running last in the 100 metre dash by 50 metres, that everyone cheers for in a feel good moment.

He deserves MUCH more responsability. His early performances (great ones) set that expectation.

We owe it to him to be very critical.
