[Resurrected] DCE is the worst halfback in the NRL

DCE is an enigma. He’s stepped up so many times to kick winning field goals yet there’s so many times he’s gone missing, last night for example. Not sure if he’s playing injured currently but he’ll need to lift next week.Maybe once a finals spot was wrapped up he put the cue in the rack until then

He needs a five eighth. Manly missing Turbo, Thompson, JetSki, Sipley, Boyle, I won’t count Hopoate but those guys are all first graders. They have money tied up in Hodkinson Croker Elgey and Cust unnecessarily. Barret should take credit for that. And for letting Tom Wright, who would have been an excellent wing or centre, (or maybe a capable fullback in injury circumstances) go.

Smith. Cronk. Thurston. Gallen. Maloney. etc etc are leaders.
They step up and quite literally lead the way.
Who lead last night?
Manase.

More myth than man currently. I assume he must be playing injured given how poor he has been.Whilst that is admirable, when it has such a big effect on our performance I'm wondering whether we may have been better playing Croker or Cust and give him time off.

Regarding his general lack of leadership - has been going on for years. Never rated him as a Captain. I don't think the reluctance to pick him in Origin was just personality, I think they see his short comings in the ability to step up consistently to that next level.

Key word there is Consistency

You are 100% right there feathered friend.

DCE is a favourite of mine all I can assume is he is playing injured otherwise it will appear like he steps up only around SOO time, and that it is really the other injured players like Thomo that revs the team up, I will be gutted if that’s the case.

Can't base it on the last 2 games, been one of our best all year, but is down on form last 2 weeks, but we are also way down on troops, missing our best attacking play, combinations our out, Api has been very poor, walker is touching the ball too many times in the set.

I agree DCE hasn't played his best last 2 weeks, but has stood up and been one of our best for the majority of the season.

Put Thomo, Turbo, a healthy Suli and a healthy DCE playing together, and Faniu and would be a lot different.

Spot on Simo.

DCE is world class. He is a leader he’s just a whipping boy for people on this site who earn less than him. He was outstanding against the raiders and the whole team were played off a break against the storm. Last night was always going to happen. Manly have run there race and I can only look forward to next year. You don’t win comps after coming second last and buying Rueben Garrick, you win them by making a semi and seeing what that’s all about, having young guns coming through and having a coach who will bring a few astute signings in in the next year. Cust will be ready Hoppa will be a strike winger Shuster will hopefully get a gig and Isaac Luke will be a better Api replacement. Didn’t have the cattle or experience this year. Deal with it. It’s a game and it’s not played with by the posters here on this forum. Please don’t let it affect you or your mental health this much. Listen to some Bobby Mcfreren. Also Phil Collins ‘groovy kind of love’ tends to help me. Peace out silvertails. Love you all.

Haha there was a thread a couple of weeks

What a difference a couple of weeks make for the fickle fan...

Mate....with all due respect.....how is this Tom Wright being dragged up again?

How many games did he play for the Brumbies this season? In a game bereft of defence.

He was not up to NRL first grade. Blokes have to be more than flashy footwork in under 20s to make it as consistent NRL first graders.

I watched him play under twenties. I thought he had the makings of a good footballer but was hamstrung by injury and his trajectory into first grade under Tbaz. I don’t think he did anything wrong in his first grade appearances and I would have liked to have seen what became of him in a different coaching system. There has certainly been improvement in Parker and Suli with a good coach and not someone who just wants to hang around and get on the sauce with footballers.

I watched him too.

Agree to disagree.

We'll be up against it , the nrl won't want manly winning a semi at brookie anyway. Then the injuries.

If we get within a margin or 12 we are going to do well.
Think this could get very ugly next weekend
