Cue the numbnuts .. 1st in .. Bryce Cartwright

I've looked into this tirelessly since my wife found 50 times the recommended maximum level of mercury in her system. That mercury taking the life of our unborn child. The only way to get mercury out of the system so my wife would survive and so we could start a healthy family without deformities was to find an alternate solution. No medical procedure could reduce the mercury by any more than 5%.
Naturally we looked into the whole system, which opened up a big can of worms.
We're we vaccinated as kids, yes we were, but I'm not claiming anything on those grounds
As a professional sportsperson (by the way I represented Australia in 2 different sports, won world titles and created a successful career out of my sporting achievements) I was able to better understand what went into the body and how it affected my physical, mental and emotional well being.
I believe I am well enough life qualified, through experience, research, and listening without a close mind to appreciate what people go through before injecting things into theirs or their precious children's systems. You can choose to peruse or mock me further, however you did ask, so there are the answers.
Thankyou, my post wasn't really serious so I wasn't expecting a response. I'm also very sorry for the loss that you suffered. My partner and I have suffered the loss of two children during pregnancies so I potentially understand the loss and emotion that it comes with.
But I am curious, what led you to believe that a vaccination was the cause of your wife's condition and not another? E.g. Seafood or another environmental exposure.

I didn't blame a vaccine on my wife's condition, we were forced to open our eyes on the world of heavy metals as one in 10 people (there's another stat that wood can research) absorb heavy metals more than minerals.
The fact that she refused to accept medical professionals reasoning behind the still born and looked deeper ultimately saved her life

Then, and I'm sorry for my bluntness here (I guess the MMR vaccine moved me somewhere onto the spectrum), your story is simply a red herring. And, other than your still unexplained distrust of medical professionals, is unrelated to vaccines.
I'm afraid I'm still not 100% what you're trying to explain here. Is it that you don't like vaccines as you think they contain large amounts of heavy metals or is it just a general mistrust of health professionals?
Also, don't ask someone else to research a stat that you posted. You need to provide the detail and if you can't, then its just more BS.

The problem with every man and his dog conducting ‘online research’ is that the vast majority lack the critical thinking, reading, and analysis skills to figure out what's from a reputable source and has any degree of scientific or statistical validity, and what’s just David Avocado Wolfe getting his jollies out of watching morons spread his BS across the interwebs.

I mean, come on - a lot of these people spreading anti-vax stuff on social media and telling others to ‘do ya research!’ are the same ones sharing endless prize posts because ‘Woolies decided to give a $200 voucher to everyone who likes and shares’ or ‘Mavis P. won this car/Winnebago/lunar landing unit and is only 16 so we can’t give her the prize, like and share and tag all your friends!’. The gene pool grows ever more shallow...
No doubt there is loads of falsified information on the internet, and you don’t become an expert in a given scientific field by perusing other peoples hard work online.

Critical thinking and analytical ability seems to be the catch cry of those who believe they are superior in the brain department to others. On one side you have the conspiracy theorists declaring that all the sheeple are completely brainwashed, while on the other the brainiacs declare that nobody should question anything because they are too dumbed down. (Sounds remarkably similar to me.) Perhaps the truth lay wedged some place between the two extremities.

Oftentimes what a person defines as a reputable source is subjectively dependent upon which side of the fence they stand. For example, there are umpteen million articles on the web about the over use of antibiotics, psychotropics and antidepressants. Then there’s others proclaiming the wonders of modern psychiatry, not to mention the countless pieces on how the sale of these products is a multi billion a year industry. Which of these are reputable? (Considering many come from a common source.) Perhaps they were all just written by some uneducated, illiterate from a backwater shack. What level of intelligence is one required to have in order to form an opinion on the matter?

There isn’t a required level of intelligence for opinion formation (or procreating either, which is a big part of the problem) - but if yours is at the level where you’re unable to check for a simple blue tick to see if a Facebook giveaway is genuine, or your wife/girlfriend ‘educated’ you by way of YouTube videos...I’m not even going to bother engaging with you.

The biggest problem with the internet is that it has given imbeciles a platform to spout their opinions as if they were fact, with nothing to differentiate ‘Karen from Facebook’ and an actual expert on whatever subject. They don’t carry equal weight, and they shouldn’t be treated as if they do.

Critical analysis, by the way, involves looking at multiple sides and assessing them in order to form your opinion or draw conclusions, not picking one pathway and disregarding anything that might contradict it or raise uncomfortable questions. Shouting down other people by calling them ‘sheep’ and posturing that you know better thanks to your proficiency at Google-fu is most definitely in the latter category.

As you continue to demonstrate ... not a lot ...

PSS .. the fact that you consider medical research an extreme is frightening ...

I don't think intelligence has anything to do with it. Nor would I call someone less intelligent for believing something different. What is important is the reasoning behind that belief (and yes you and I have been down this road before). It come down to whether your belief can be rationally explained and justified? But, when it comes to these types of issues, no one from the minority viewpoint is willing to actually put up their own rational behind it.
I think that it is perfectly fair for someone to say that they are not knowledgeable enough in a field and are willing to put their faith in a group of experts or governing body. And we can pick apart this way of thinking if anyone wants to to see if it holds up.
But it is a much greater leap to put your faith in un-researched claims made by individuals who sit well and truly outside the scientific consensus and the overwhelming majority of professional recommendations. So where is the thinking behind it?

Also, if anyone is or wants to question some of the practices of modern medicine...and I do think that you should. Try reading. Overkill: When Modern Medicine Goes Too Far by Paul Offit (the co-creator of the rotavirus vaccine)
disclaimer: I'm yet to start on it myself but have enjoyed past books by the same author (@Kevinward777 will probably see why if he looks at some titles)

This is a perfect case example of what I was attempting to remonstrate. So much so, I have taken a screenshot of the post, complete with the @Woodsie avatar. It will sit nicely in a frame beside my David Ickie “the world is being run by reptiles” conspiracy theory. Proving once more that inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes.

ps you CANT get the flu from a flu shot. If a doctor tells you that, change doctors. The flu shot is not fully effective for a few weeks after the shot, so you have the shot and still get the flu.
My doctor told me that..
Ok Biff ... I am prepared to be schooled .... what sort of response would you like from me for people that reject the stance of every health care and medical authority in every country of the world with over 70 years of historical and scientific data at their disposal ...

When a numbnut wishes to ignore all those authorities and listen to Karen on the interwebby ... because she prefaced her article with .. "what the government doesn't want you to know" .. and finishes with .. "don't be a sheeple" ....

Please tell me the appropriate response .... or at least the response you would like from me ...
Maybe a kinder response... just because people have a different opinion to you you insult them.. why dont you post this so called 70 years of scientific and historical data? Dont be there lickspittle mate, give us the evidence! I remember we had a debate about Christians and there accomplishments.... that didnt go to well for you did it ol mate. I had facts you had.... well.. nothing! Just theories LOL
Ill be happy to read this info you provide us oh wise part of the furniture Mr. Wood

No Shnorky ... I am not referring to people who disagree with me as numbnuts .... I am referring to people who disagree with over 70 years of scientific and medical historical data as numbnuts ... . and I have no illusions that Silvertails has any less numbnuts than the National Numbnuttery Average ...
Ah yes the NNA aren't you the Director? Still waiting for this special 70 year information. I think like always you heard something or read it on the interwebs and just copy paste like many on here ie manlyfan76.. unless its someone else. His response will tell us. Ps Go Manly. If one of the boys dont get a flu shot i suppose they are numbnuts as well.. hmmm seems in woodies dictator state no one can have an opinion of they're own.

Hail Kim Jong Wood

This thread has become even more fun than the Sky Fairy argument some months ago

I think we can add vaccines to the topics never to discuss publicly ( on top of religion and politics).

It’s a good thing we live in a democracy isn’t it?
Now now dont be a bad man like back then, i like you now. 😉 no surprise @yokahontas the kid laughed at that comment he still believes in theories and takes them as fact. Lmfao. He is so far up Kim jong woods butt he can taste his food
