Also Friday sat nights don't cause issues for rugby finals matches or major boxing fights ratings.
Also the 2 times the warriors made it to the Grand final i watched it at a mates house even though it was on a Sunday.
And from experience a lot of Kiwis that are big fans of origin usually go out to a bar to watch it which I've noticed with half of them being hungover the next day at work or not showing up.

Orgin is bad enough here in Aus, would make a pretty late night over there in NZ.

I would rather have a cane toad avatar than that mug Latrell.
Latrell avatar confirmed for you for game 2 🙂

I don’t support either team but as a neutral I hope it goes to game three tied up. After the one way traffic of the first game I can’t see it happening though

It's been suggested that this is all Queensland playing games and he was never gonna play. Will be very interesting to see if he plays for you next week.

SOO and Intl eligibility rules are a joke as it is, but somehow we get new punchlines for the farce it is.

Now they're saying the Kiwi replacement winger wasn't in aust before his 13th birthday so he may not be eligible.

Qld seems to be organising origin as well as Aust is organising their vaccine rollout.

I don't really follow origin but out of curiosity looked it up.
What's the logic behind not being eligible if you've played for a tier 1 (Eng/NZ) nation at international level but perfectly fine if you've played for Samoa or Tonga if i understood it correctly. I know the logic from Australia's representative squads benefit but just makes no sense otherwise.

I don't think Walsh was ever playing.

I think QLD just named him so all of the attention would be on him instead of the rest of the side. It worked, too. All of the talk was about Walsh and whether he is ready or not.

Also help him get familiar with origin for when he actually plays in the future.

I see Mulitalo's eligibility has been called into question.

Mulitalo imbroglio: Blues raise questions over Ronaldo's eligibility

NSWRL officials have questioned the eligibility of Cronulla winger Ronaldo Mulitalo to play State of Origin after he was rushed into the Queensland team as a replacement for the injured Reece Walsh on Saturday night.

He first played for the Ellerslie Eagles. Its not his fault that he got selected and most would jump at the chance, but they need to sort this one out quickly, otherwise pretty much anyone who plays for NSW or QLD at under 18s will qualify for Origin meaning potentially more defections of Kiwi representatives through this loophole.

Edit: Just saw the irony of this picture with Papalii who first said he was 100% committed to, then backflipped on the Kiwis when QLD came knocking.

A few years back the minow country players in the NRl were choosing to play Origin rather than be available for their international team as there wasn't any benefit or opportunity to play for their country in internationals which then meant under the old rules made them ineligible to represent their own country in future.
The rules were changed so these players could play for their own country but still be eligible for origin stregnthening the minows player ranks as they would not be ruled out for selection if they played origin.

While NSW have their own reasons for raising the eligibility ruling, the decision has saved the NZ national team.

While we will always have passionate ones like DWZ wanting to represent NZ without question, we are struggling enough to field a squad as it is with the number of defections we've had in recent years. If this wasn't enforced you'd pretty much have most 14 or 15 year olds plucked out of the NZ systems by NRL scouts and whichever club you land with would determine whether you were with NSW or QLD. That's not real representation of your state.

I'm disappointed for Mulitalo, but glad sanity has prevailed.
