We had a cancerous year under Trent when he decided to fall out with the Incomparable Immortal and go solo and under his solo effort we consistently performed to mediocre level that tarnished our Manly winning reputation and we narrowly escaped the spoon
To answer to your question .,
Manly does not stand for Mediocre and it takes consistent good games by players not to tarnish our great reputation

Bozo you have blamed just about everybody and everything, and come up with about 30 justifications for posting not one, not 2, not 22 but at least 150 posts literally bagging the living shiite out of this young kid ...

Why not man up like you keep preaching and just say you were a complete arrsehole and in future you will not talk about good young men as though they were crap on the sole of your boot ....

We are a funny lot on this forum we judge players on one performance at times. No doubt about it Croker had a good game yesterday after a ordinary start to the game and I admire his tenacity and the effort he puts into backing up and he is gutsy head on defender. But as Des said in the presser yesterday young Croker will be pleased he had a good game but probably hopes he has another 150. I've seen Croker have two really good games the first was in the 54 nil demolition of Parramatta and the second was yesterday. DCE's absence will be his litmus test. I watched him in reggies twice this year and wasn't overly impressed but playing in the big show brings our the best in some players and yesterday's performance should give him confidence. I hope he produces great performances back to back but its a bit soon to say I told you so. I'm sure the poster that referred to him as a cancer regrets his choice of words. But it's important to let things go. People at times regret what they type and sadly on this place you can't delete it and the best you can do is to say in a later post that you regret it. I do agree we should be careful with what we say about these young men as they are part of our Manly family. We need to treat them with dignity and respect even when they have a clunker or even a few clunkers.

What you say is true .... and I am certainly not ready to name him in the Kangaroos ......

But I think what has pleased everybody is that the character, grit, courage and talent that both Baz and Dessie (and some astute Silvertails) saw in this kid has gone a long way towards being justified ...... I am sure he is still a long way off being Foran ... but he shows to me the same sort of potential ....

Remember, this kid has 3 knee recons and has only played about 10 games in 3 years .... to come out and perform to that level was remarkable ....

I am sure footy being footy he will have some bad games and backward steps ..... but legs willing .... I wouldn't bet against this kid being something pretty good in the next few years ...

,
it’s like the other day - someone cut me off in a car park...I arked up, shouted “you effing...” then noticed their bumper sticker was a Sea Eagle....and assumed they must have been in a hurry so smiled and waved them through.
.
Gold:clap:

Not the crux of what you were saying, so more an fyi, but you can delete your posts on here (as long as someone doesn't quote it.

You guys should see some of my gibberish I've deleted the morning after err tipsy postings!

This leads us to the question though...will Des go for a Croker/elgey combo if DCE is out (touch @Woodsie) or opt for the much greater experience of Hodkinson? Personally I see more upside to Hodko/Croker...one can direct us and kick us around the park, the other can play tough and creative.

I just got on here to say that I just watched a replay and one of the best things I've seen in a few bleak years is the joy on Lachies face when he scored his tries and after the game.
We won in an amazingly courageous manner and this young fella, who has copped a sh*t deal with injuries, was absolutely jubilant and seemed like he was freed of a great weight.
But jeezus this thread is like walking through a war zone.
We won ffs.
And gutsy too.
It's what everyone has been asking for well here it is.
F*ck.
Rejoice...

Fully agree with this. I was watching him after the game, he was high-fived by training staff, Tommy T and other players - clear they support him, know what he's gone through and were stoked that he had such a game. Just great to see a bloke so happy after a tough run, regardless of ability, future selections etc. BTW, he has a bit of speed, doesn't he?

I am a fan of Dessie ... but trying to predict his movements is well beyond me ... I will say though ... i expect it will be one of the following ....

Elgely / Croker
Siro / Croker
Hodko / Croker
Fainu / Croker
Api / Croker
Walker / Croker

What concerns me a little is Elgely's confidence .... wasn't too high to begin with .... being dropped won't have helped ..... next few weeks looming as make or break for the bloke ....

I think its gotta be Hodkinson Croker.... Elgey had his chance and didn't grasp it. Croker has taken his chance, and Hodkinson is a specialist halfback who can control a game.

Dunno if Hodko's creaky knees are oiled up for this week and ready to go....but if they are then surely its his turn.
I think it's more of Des sending a message to Elgey. Kane knows he needs to work on his confidence and Des will give him a second chance but isn't it wonderful to have a few feasible options in the halves this year?

One thing for certain that is that Croker will be there. I’d be inclined to give Siro a shot, put Waddell into the run on side and bring Tangles up to the bench.i interpret Des’s comments at the presser to suggest that LG does not provide sufficient punch down the left side and has fallen down the pecking order.

I always man up mate and say it how I see it and will keep manning up as usual

i never thought he was that bad with us last year, just started to play some good footy before he got injured so we never saw what he could do. I think there are way more positives to his game then Elgey and would love for him to stay injury free and build his game under dez.
Totally agree... the kid played 6 or 7 games last year and was shot down for having a lack of creativity BUT he has been a crackerjack defender from game 1 and always ran good support imo... I am stoked to see him have a performance like he did on Sunday as I always thought, and stated prior to game 1, that we should be starting the season with him cause LG came here as a poor defender that was out of form...

Some cancers can be a good thing I guess. =)

You denied calling him a cancer in the game day thread. Your exact word there was cancerous. Its the same thing mate.

The only cancer was the coach at the time. Croker was thrust into a position last year that he simply wasn't ready for and that wasn't his fault. He was brought into the club strictly as a backup at a time when we still had Blake Green. Once he was released and we missed out on (in order) Brock Lamb, Mitchell Pearce, Trent Hodkinson, Matt Moylan and allegedly Todd Carney, that left it a two horse race and everyone knows that we would have been much better served with DCE-Hastings as our halves. But the coach got his knickers in a twist over Hastings and that was that which basically doomed us from the start.

Lachlan Croker was never a cancer. He just wasn't ready to play first grade last year and certainly wasn't ready to be our first choice 5/8. It would seem though that playing more in NSW Cup before coming in this year, plus being under a coach who actually knows what he is doing, has shown that maybe he is now ready for first grade. Only time will tell if he is about to embark on a good first grade career, or if Sunday's performance was just a blip on the rugby league oblivion radar.

It's Tuesday in Aust isn't it?

What's Lachlan delivered today?

Ah
Ah
Ah hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

*cough*
