Match Stats

The cowboys had a dig because we let them have one - there is a difference. You can make excuses if you like but that first half was very poor, and won’t cut it in the finals, I get worried manly think they can just flip a switch, the finals wont be like that and if we continue to play how we have been we will be cannon fodder against the better teams, I thought it was an opportunity missed to just play some high percentage footy and not miss tackles

I’m glad we won and it was great to watch, but it didn’t fill me with hope that we are ready for next week
A signature moment was Schuster having the ball stripped on a first tackle. Luckily we earned a penalty.

Can someone please yell into his ear that on the first tackle, just tuck the ball under the arm and run hard.

The Storm will take advantage if he tries it on next week.

Baba is Croatian for gran I believe

"In Serbo-Croatian and Bulgarian, baba means "grandmother; old woman" and it is somewhat pejorative ("baka" being the nicer version of the word in Serbo-Croatian)." - Wikipedia

R.I.P to her and best wishes to the Trbojević Family and Friends. Well done by both Jake and Tom bagging multiple tries to honour her memory.

There were 3 tries that were among the best I have seen. Wow...simply stunning.

Could wax lyrical about quality of opposition, taking 70mins to put them away blah blah blah, but why spoil the magic?

Those 3 tries by Jakes (off Guac's amazing tap-back) was a better version of Inglis's; Turbo's individual effort was a better version of Haynes, and that last try....far out there have been some long-rangers, but that was just so exciting to watch.

Kudos boys, best of luck against the Storm - one things for sure, they have been exhilarating to watch this year after the start to the year.

They’ve certainly given us quite the ride haven’t they !!

Not enough superlatives to describe those amazing trys

That was some finish by the boys.

This game for 67 minutes was a real struggle as we battled ourselves by giving up too much ball as we grappled with a committed Cows team with nothing to lose.

To give up a try like we did to start the game could have spelt real trouble and I loved the way that we composed our self and got our defence right and hung in there and took our chances was a good sign for the team moving forward.

The intervention of Foran and Tom before half time changed the game for us and it was clutch for us as the Cows really put it to us in the first half.

The second half unfolded poorly for us, again bad ball control caused unnecessary pressure on our defence and we allowed them back into the game with for us was a very soft try.

I liked the reaction and the try that Oka made for Jake was a stunning play as he had no right to get that ball back into play.

The next 20 minutes ebbed and flowed and we found ourselves only 6 up with 15 minutes to go. I was thinking we might need a field goal to put them away and then the switch was lit and wow some of the most spectacular tries the team has scored all season.

Rueben Garrick scored a fantastic try going full tilt after a bomb, catching it and scoring was a great effort.

Then there is Tommy Turbo. Oh my goodness the try he scored beating 9 men is one of the most amazing solo efforts I have seen in the game. It broke the cows and we got two more tries and the last one will be close to team try of the year. Wow what a finish.

My observations are that we are still a team learning and we have a few weaknesses to work on and we cannot give up the ball against the drizzle as they will punish us.

This team consistently goes back to back to back scoring tries and it often means that a close game is over in 5-10 minutes.

The power we have in the pack creates the room for our ageless halves to do their stuff and the back 3 are getting better and better and for all of them to be 20 tries plus this season is outstanding.

We are truly blessed to see this team building and its so lovely to see them play for each other and with big smiles on their faces and overcoming adversity. Fantastic for the rest of the season and next season.

The key thing tonight is the team is healthy and we are primed to have a real crack at the drizzle.

We must cut down on the errors and build pressure as the drizzle are a great counter attacking side.

Lets enjoy the ride folks, this is some team that is building!

Lovely words mate , couldn’t have said it better !!

I must say I thought Harper, guac, dce and shoe were all down on their best tonight... hoping they have got it out of the system in time for the finals!

Not sure if this should be the thread to post this on but it appears next week is Friday at the Sunny Coast. So that means the only team that had to travel considerable distance this week, gets the shortest turnaround
