Coronavirus sucks.. but the NRL lives!

Minimal deaths under sixty five and it proves something. Of course their are exceptions.
That is a ridiculous argument.

In Australia deaths are under 10 after three months. Our own doctors are suggesting our strain is not as harsh.Call me when it reaches 900 like the flu last year.

This country needs to protect the weak and harden the **** up.

wow, you're throwing out the ridiculous argument insult after what you've been typing over the last few days????

10,000 deaths worldwide

20% of people aged 20-40 ending up in icu is NOT JUST A BAD COLD.

I'm sure there's people out there sorry about your stock portfolio, maybe you should just harden up?

wah, protect the weak as long as they are in the same age bracket by magically only helping boomers and screw everyone else.

How do you think it compares to 2008 financial crisis? I’m no numbers guy, but after watching "The Big Short" at least two dozen times, it fascinates me.

2008 should be and I think will be a lot worse than this virus issue IF they wake up or we get a treatment soon which I think is likely.

Credit driven ( 08 ) or standard business cycle recessions (89) created by interest rates have a lot longer life than event driven recessions.

This is more dangerous than a usual event driven episode because it is based on irrational panic with the help of the social media idiots but once people realize the cost I think policy will change as sentiment turns.
Having said that, on the sheer speed of the decline of credit and equity asset markets and raw early unemployment data and anecdotal evidence this is the greatest financial crash in history on raw numbers . I think it will be ok if common sense kicks in and treatments are found soon as I expect.

If that doesn’t happen god help us.

Ohh - say do you have any um 'hunches' about this? Any shares we should consider? lol

"Four US senators are under scrutiny over claims they used insider knowledge about the impending coronavirus crisis to sell shares before prices plummeted."

60000 died of the flu in the US alone in 2018 mate. Get a grip . 10 000 worldwide and its end of days.

There are six people dead in this country and have been for a week. I thought the exponential theory was a given.I could not give a toss about death rates because no one knows how many have it.The cold hard fact is we have six dead and the country is going to ****.

Yes. We do need to harden the **** up. And quick.

If you ask a chess player what opening is the most dangerous one in the sense that you can lose quickly if you don't know exact moves you are supposed to play, then most probably you'll hear the King's Gambit, the Sicilian Defense or some other notoriously sharp opening.

My personal choice would be the Hanham variation of the Philidor defense (1.e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 Nd7).

I appreciate where Susan is coming from, namely the economic devastation is an overreaction to the scale of the health crisis. However I just can't see any evidence in support of that.
The comparisons to past epidemics and past stock market crashes don't carry much weight as the circumstances have all been different (so far as I can see, at least)

I think we can all agree to disagree. I for one back Susan on this one but doesn't mean we are right or wrong. Then there are fence sitters. I live on the GC and have not met one person that is worried about the virus. At the shops there is old people everywhere!!! Why aren't they isolating themselves? Why arent they taking all necessary precautions. We are closing down the entire planet to protect a few but a large portion of them are not protecting themselves

Check your facts Susan.
Health first, money second and yes, I know you trade in stocks and are the complete opposite of nurses, teachers etc.
Are you kidding mate. This ain’t about stocks lol
They are an indicator.of the world. This is about jobs , livelihoods, mental health and social fabric.
And for your interest I spent four years remedial teaching in the ghettos in Chicago helping kids who are victims of gang culture on weekends and have always been involved in charity work my whole life.

Anyone who can’t see what’s happening through this haze of panic should open their eyes.
And by the way my 48 year old brother tested positive yesterday afternoon so I think it does effect me and he agrees with everything I say.He is a stock trader though so he ain’t a teacher or nurse.
Btw he is ok Very well handled by GC hospital atm apparently.

Because they've probably been listening to you two! Or to Talkin Sport! Or to Donald Trump (at least until he changed his tune a week or so ago)
Serious question and im curious to know if you are a left or right person? Not just yourself but all that are arguing one way or the other... Im interested to see if this is a left v right argument. Its fair to say I am definitely right and so are my family and friends and pretty much everyone I know and they are all on my side of the argument.

I'd be appalled if it fell to taking sides on philosophical grounds. Although if you think of the left as being about community and the right as being about the individual then, sadly, I can see what you might be suggesting.

I’m left wing in a social sense. Voted labour all my life because guys like Hawk and Keating were great leaders. Rudd turned me off politics entirely so I swing now but I still lean left if I think the candidate deserves it.

You do know this is social media right?
And also that many on here think that the medical assessments of someone desperate to protect their investments at all costs is on the idiotic side?
Don’t use Facebook Twitter Instagram or anything else . So no I’m not into social media.Come here for footy is usually . Only internet stuff I do.And I’m not sure if you read my posts. This is about real lives and real jobs and the future .

Went to my local shops yesterday, expecting it to be deserted, and ppl wearing masks. Couldn’t have been more wrong. It was packed. The cafe had to bring out extra tables to accommodate the mainly 60-70 yr olds. I was sitting on a bench getting more instructions on the mobile from the ze fuhrer . And she asked what all the background noise was. I said it’s the oldies, they’re having a ball. It was like they’ve gone ..."We’ve had a good innings, and we are going out in style". It was that, or the cafe was dropping MDMA in their cappuccinos.
