He couldn't use his arms because he'd had shoulder surgery fmd, now that's a good one ( wink wink looking at you Fainu). Although he seemed to have no trouble ripping his shirt off first!!

Another under the rug
Souths and walker will get a slap in the face for that we all know it.
If that was say a manly player well the media would go crazy.
Souths the club that keeps the lol's coming and im loving it, sick of this pride of the league we have had to endure over the last couple of years

$20K for that !!!!!! LOL. I thought it was going to be something controversial. Pi$$ed idiots fighting in the middle of the road and another pi$$ed idiot who should know better comes in with a flying kick.

"Walker has told police that he is being blackmailed for $20,000 over the video that allegedly shows him kicking a man.The Rabbitohs will be making no further comment on this matter at this stage as it is part of an ongoing police enquiry instigated by Cody Walker himself.”

If it looks like bull**** and it smells like bull****.....

People are responsible for their choices and actions. I wish they would cut the crap and treat it for what it really is namely an assault which was a cowardly act. I wouldn't be surprised if he were charged by the Police. That is exactly the type of behavior we are trying to wipe out of our society.

If Walker says what happened happened then lets all move on. A suspension for that? Oh lets get real. It must be off season (or mid season break). We all know a certain number of footballer are d***heads. This was a d***head action.

On a totally different topic. A friend of mine had business dealings with a young NRL player (in the clubs 17). It came out that he had had a rough upbringing and lived in out of home care. My friend said he was one of the most respectful & pleasant young men he had ever meet. So people just responsibility for their own actions and behaviour.

So because we know a certain number of players are d**kheads we should just accept it and play on?

Interesting approach... although I guess the precedent has been set with Russell Packer, Matt Lodge etc etc...

He would cop a suspension if he did this on the field but if he does it to an average joe that was not attacking him and was unprepared it is somehow alright and we should just play on... interesting approach but yep, probably the one that our 'great' game will take...

Just listened to Weidler on BSB. Surprise, surprise he and his media mates are painting Walker as the victim.

Yep, Weirdler was almost apologetic for him...."he's very contrite, is prepared for whatever sanctions he may get, etc...but you've got to understand the background, his cousin had just taken her own life and they were struggling, he'd been drinking..... he sees his other cousin in this fight and has to protect him...he's a leader in the indigenous community...."

I get all that Danny but it looked to me like a stand up one on one blue by two pissed idiots, no one was getting the better of the other or anyone's life in immediate danger to warrant what Walker did.

A "leader" wouldn't do that, they'd try to quell the situation another way, no wonder there are problems in the world.
No excuses, his state of mind, alcohol etc shouldn't come into it.
How would it be viewed if it happened down at the Cross or Coogee rather than Casino?

Interesting that it's only come out now when it supposedly happened in October, did South's cover it up? Did they know?

I grew up in a town with 1/3 aboriginal population in an age where they were segregated to a large extent.

This started to change from the middle 60’s and by the time I hit high school in 1966 we had heaps of them at our school , lots I still call mates to this day.

Some real good blokes, some dickheads , and that statement isn’t racial in nature just fact.

But there’s one standard thing I can say from back then ( and it would be no different today ) one on one they were very reticent to get in a scrap but when they had a few mates they’d love the “ attack from all sides “ deal , king hits , king kicks and this to me looks like nothing has changed, 50 years later.

Two guys sparring ( pretty tame) and then in comes Cody from the side without any notice , a real dog act.

We know nothing much will happen and of course he’s the “ victim “ but we all know what, in a fight sense, this is don’t we?

Has the phrase ... "helping a family member who is struggling" .. become the new the go to comment ? ... replacing I just want to move forward and let my football do the talking ...

It looks like a pretty minor incident to me. The type of thing that could happen in a group when a few are on the piss. If that is it then it isn’t much.

There's helping your family and then there's helping your family but an act like that tells us about character.
How often do we see that when people are pissed and their real character comes out?

They do something stupid and the next day they're remorseful and everyone says he's a nice family guy, loves his kids and has a heart of gold..he's not normally like that ( apart from when he's pissed) whilst the guy that they knocked out is in hospital ( or the morgue) with their family saying how did this happen to to this nice family guy who loves his kids and has a heart of gold.

20 blokes walking down the middle of the street fighting .... bet the real estate agents don't put that on their brochures ...
