It looks like a pretty minor incident to me. The type of thing that could happen in a group when a few are on the piss. If that is it then it isn’t much.
What was happening before Walker showed up was minor (and impressively fair)... then Cody demonstrated his character for all to see... if he had any gumption he would have squared up 1-on-1 afterwards when offered the chance but all he was interested in was trying to look the hero with a dog shot... I've seen many a Cody Walker over the years - guys that build a reputation based on cowardly acts...

But sure blame the alcohol... I guess we walk past that which we condone...

I had a mate seriously hurt many years ago a bit like this , at about 30 he was totally bald ( this is part of the story) and we were on a motorbike boys trip away to a country pub where he was baited by a young smartarse inside a pub.

He should have walked away but the guy kept baiting him and slagging out about his bald head ( and yes he was self conscious about it) so it was “ on like donkey kong” , let’s go outside the young guy said and out the door my mate heads to be absolutely king hit from the side by smartarse‘s mate waiting outside.

Down goes my mate, had to call the ambulance and he was in hospital for days whilst they did brain scans and stuff.

Called the coppers , but without a witness nothing happened , smartarse claimed he only baited him to get a bite and he didn’t know the king hitter.... yeah right.

Absolute coward act that could have taken a life.

This was the same action as Walker the other guy couldn’t see it coming.

What I find hard to take is that when an indigenous person be it a player or public Farks up they are always quick to use their culture to justify their action. Latrell getting caught during isolation and it was all about "a bro doing it hard" I don't know the photos they put on social media showed a bunch of guys having fun which bro was doing it hard that required dirt bikes, use of unlicensed rifle. If one of the "bros" got shot would they have blamed tribal punishment for the incident. After all it is 2020 so the rifle has replaced the pointing of the bone. These fark wits Instead of falling back and create a B.S (I don't mean bank stuff) about bros, culture, secret women/men business since its away of refuting personal responsibility and pointing the finger at everything aboriginal just step up and admit I farked up people would respect that far more than create a cultural B.S since they feel we "White fellas" are so stupid and don't understand their culture so they can get away with telling us any crock they can dream up.

Is there another interview? Walker didn't mention indigenous culture in these ones

Agree, let’s not use this incident as an excuse to be racist.

Player agent under police investigation

A rugby league player manager is now at the centre of a police investigation in a bizarre twist to the alleged blackmail of Rabbitohs star Cody Walker.

The alleged standover occurred on Saturday when someone allegedly phoned Walker’s agent Matt Rose demanding $20,000 to stop the release of a video which showed Walker kicking someone during a brawl in the middle of a road at Casino last year.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal the caller left what detectives believe could be a vital clue – a phone number.

Mr Rose gave the number to South Sydney Police detectives, who have used it to link the investigation to another player manager. That agent is now a subject of the investigation.

I watched Over the Black Dot on NITV last night (you can see it on catch-up SBS) - it is a great show hosted by George Rose, and they analyse Koori knock-out games.

Last night he had his brother Matt, Dean Widders and Timana Tahu showing highlights and incidents from the 2009 knock-out grand final won by Walgett (with the Roses in the team).

It is a really funny show and they showed lots of off the ball incidents between Chris Sandow and Matt Rose during the game.

Just read on Fox League that ( nudge nudge wink wink) Cody isn’t being charged with anything over this affair and will be free to play next week.

Yep the old “ cultural get out of goal free card” is at it again.

Fair dinkum, sorry but this is bull****!!

It's the police that aren't charging him with anything ... he will probably still get hit by the NRL ...

But WTF are the police thinking .... they fine the 2 blokes squaring off one on one $500 ... but say the third man in who blindsides and assaults one of them with a kick ... nothing ... did nothing wrong ... nada .... everybody should do it .... FMD .... the cops are on happy gas ...
