I hate our stinking away jerseys. Why couldn't wear our maroon hoops. Don't we have a washing machine ? Give them to Mrs Hopate. She'll probably even iron them. Second thoughts put her @ right centre. She'd have to defend better than Rubean. Sorry just venting.
Absolutely hate them with a vengeance, we never win when we are wearing them. They look crappy too, hate that poxy V

Even allowing for the 2 early hia and the one sided refereeing we still saved our worst effort of the year for yesterday. It was a putrid performance from all the forwards except Olakau'atu. As for that hideous right side defence of DCE and Garrick it's been like that all year and Seibold has done nothing to fix it. All the same problems that have been there for years , errors, dumb plays , indecision, poor effort, weak defence. Same leaders on field and same results. The Trbojevics will never play in a GF and Seibold will never coach one. Absolutely embarrassing pathetic way to go out. So fuking over watching this same sh*t for the last decade.

Very disappointing game and a deflating way to finish the season. We never were in it after an awful start.
Realistically, we probably finished on the ladder at about the level we are.
The only upside in this loss is that the inadequacy of our forward pack is crystal clear (if it wasn't already); Too many nice guys, not enough mongrel.

Hmmm. I can’t agree. I don’t think rugby league is a calm game and certainly not the opening exchanges. You need to be amped up and ready to win the battle otherwise the game is gone. It was highly unfortunate what happened last night but it’s very very rare thank goodness. Just wasn’t our night and that was just one of the things that conspired against us.
Couldn’t disagree any harder. Anybody who truly understands neurology and physiology would cut right through this myth. Narratives are important, but so too is basic physiology.

Yeah, everyone knows whats going on at the Chooks. It's been going on for so long now it's pretty much a given with this club. Very hard to compete in the player market with Chooks always being the players first choice.
It’s the high quality training at the Hyde Park fountain that draws them in.

Only Manly could start a semi final with 2 players knocking themselves out in first 2 tackles. Zero tackling technique and just completely disintegrated afterwards. It was an embarrassment.

Opposition coaches are fully aware of this current Manly side's lack of defensive [ and it is not only mobility but agility ] weakness with good ball movement and effective off loads and the better sides have little trouble exploiting it .
Not losing Koula may have helped a bit and did try and hang in there for extended periods , particularly in the i st half and actually won some good field position briefly but throw in the unforced errors and penalties and would hamstring any side trying to gain some momentum.
Big let down of course but tough to make the finals for a general mid range side based on performance level over a season and at least some consolation to make it to finals week 2 .
Obvious what the defensive deficiencies are but is going to take some serious addressing in the off season and would expect a couple of positional alterations .
Is surprising that with a relatively big pack , the Manly forwards concede so many off loads and can sometimes get outmuscled , especially against the better rated packs .
Definite weakness when Brown and jake are together aiming up against fast moving attack , not sure that Lodge can be as effective against the better forward line ups as well .
Maybe Sipley and Navale to come into the frame , maybe R C G could help matters but probably a bit out of range still Alioai can be good in patches but need another and mainly consistent level from him .
Turbo certainly looked better , at least attacking wise , pretty fair chance that Burbo can go to another level next season on an edge .
Garrick must have had some issues , either injury or concussion wise .
Going to be the same dilemma next season with the outside backs , Koula and Saab musts , Garrick for his goal kicking , Lehi and Talau in at least the game day squads but that would require Croker or Simpkin virtually playing a full game at 9 .
One concern is that apart from Turbo "s issues, pretty much a full strength side available and that does not necessarily occur every season of course and in a quest to make the finals .
But it is what it is and a heap of reassessing with defensive formations and technique and maybe a couple of positional changes going into 25 .
Just as an aside , wonder if Lehi was able to slice through completely in the very early stages , and put Manly well on the front foot , whether that may have changed the course of the game a bit but would have then needed a much better controlled effort and a better run of the green with ref ;s calls to have made that much of a difference

Love his heart but Croker is a big issue for us. If we are going to stick with him, we need some legit spark off the bench. We are a quality 9 , prop and second rower away from being a top 4 side. Paseka hasn’t taken the mantle of pack leader which is disappointing. Brown has the willpower but lacks the ability. Josh A is a bench prop at best. Jazz T will give us some punch next year.

Need to pinch a 9 from somewhere. Mozer from
broncos would be my number 1 target.

Now, why would we address our dummy half issue after... what?... 6 or 7 years sweeping it under the rug. I think this club still suffers PTSD from Stabby Fainu.

I take your point but I thought our players prioritised Tolu’s welfare over push and shove. There’s nothing more horrible than seeing a guy on the ground concussed, being trampled by chest thumping Neanderthals.
True and I agree
Just needed afterwards to question the ref and take it to JWH which they didn't.

A tough game to watch. I thought that Talau carried the ball with some venom, and wouldn't mind seeing him and Garrick swap roles. Haumole was excellent. We need more creativity out of dummy half, possibly young Simpkin and Tong sharing that? More mobility needed in the pack. Either Williams or Hazelton from the sharks may fit that nicely. Apart from that, bit inconsistent, more defensive focus needed but otherwise a good season. Onward and upward for our Sea Eagles in 25.

Thanks to all our mighty supporters who have gotten to the ground all year.

My god, I hope Koula and the team learn something from that dumbass opening tackle tonight. Why we persist in this stupid myth that we somehow need to work ourselves up into an emotional frenzy in final matches …. Dumb. Stay cool, calm and centred
Had koula been bigger and taller, JWH forearm wouldnt have struck his head. a centre is suppose to go in hard against the opposition. a centre is a very important position, almost like a rook piece in chess. I have always been a fan of big/fast/mobile centres. Suali, manu fits that bill. showing a bit of biff in the opening minute sets the tone for the rest of the game. The roosters did that but we couldnt match it , because we have small players.

I hope when people move past the disappointment of tonight, they see this season for what it was - improvement (in almost every area) both on and off the park.

Talau was a real highlight. Completely exceeded expectations. I thought Simpkin when given the opportunity sped our ruck up, and I'd love to see more of him. But Hopoate - what an absolute pleasure to watch this kids development - with us thank you very much!!

All things considered, I'm hoping we mostly come out of this season happily as a community. There's lots to grow from here now.

Looking forward to Caleb Navale next season. Possibly Jake Arthur if he hasn't signed elsewhere (in a Lawton type role). Be very interesting to see who stays and goes. Also he interesting to see how Jazz Tevanga goes.

Siebold definitely gets props. Our roster seems connected. Plugged in. Committed.

Thanks for the entertainment this year Silvertails. And the patience with me !. Particular thanks goes to the most beautiful woman alive @NREagle who didn't get cross at my GameDay tantrums haha.

See you all next season. We should really celebrate the season that's past. There are 11 other teams fans that didn't have as much reason as us to be plugged in tonight !

Go Manly !

Nice work 👏🏻
