Don't know if it has been mentioned elsewhere but John Cartwright is headed to the Broncos to be main assistant to Kevin Walters apparently.

Looks like that ‘influence’* was disregarded by Des and co. when it came to the Foran signing.
*That’s influence we don’t need.
He needs somebody that is a progressive thinker and someone he respects and will hear. Otherwise the assistant is just a seat warmer.

We need someone who will not be just a Yes Man for Des.
Imagine getting someone like Craig Fitzgibbon but this will never happen. I do rate Mick Innis but he has a good gig with Fox so this will not happen either.
I hope who ever we get on board is good enough to be part of succession planning for the future or someone who will bring heaps of experience and be a new voice for the team.

Any update on who our new assistant could be?
We'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't bring in Kitey! As a player, was on par with Steve price and petero 70c, is an old manly boy who knows first hand what it takes to win the ruck, and I hear he's making a pretty decent go of coaching. Kite forwards and defensive coach, monaghan attack, ballin, and snake as specialists, and chad as general assistant to des - let's keep it manly

I think Kitey would also be a great mentor for some of our islander players who would benefit from his guidance at times off the field.

Add spud, BK as mongrel / defence coaches.
Bring in Glenn Stewart plus somewhere bring back 2V's into the fold.
That would scare the s$$$ out of some our lazy players, either get on board with us or ship out
