Buhrer

I do not want to see Ferris go, but ditto I didn't want to see Ballin go, and I certainly didn't want to see Menzies go and I never thought we'd shaft Vautin , but all of those things happened AND we survived.

If Ferris goes will I be happy.....no.

Will the club survive......yes.

The fact is ALL clubs lose quality players, and as you say Mark, our club will continue to survive with and without players, officials and members that leave .

Well I wont be supporting the management and officials if they fark off this guy. I will always support Manly but I wont part with my hard earned to support the festering knobs that continue to make these decisions.

Hey @BOZO Why **** off your club players for what, a sh1t kicker winger????? know one ever thought ST George wouldn't survive or the Magpies, Or Balmain. But guess what it happens.

This joint is ****ed

Sh1t Mark. Menzies retired at 35 from us.. Ballin was 31.. This co Captain is 27, I Think. What did Buhrer do to the Big Fat Piece Of Crap we call Zorba

But not all clubs lose quality players when they simply don't have to. And most clubs at least try to replace them with players of better quality.
He wants to play for Manly. He gives everything he's got, every game. A few weeks ago he was being touted as one of our 2017 captains, for ****'s sake.
If he goes I'll be gutted for him, but my biggest fear is the message his treatment will send to our current crop of players, including future stars like the Turbos: No matter what you want, no matter how you play, you're expendable. Your contract means nothing. Loyalty to the club means nothing. So don't get comfortable. We'll move you on whenever we see fit.

Yes seems to be a common thread , BTW I don't want Ferris gone, I was simply saying like the others if he goes that we will survive as a result!!

I have NO idea what goes on behind the doors of the decision makers at this club.

So I cannot say with any certainty that shedding Buhrer is the wrong thing long term. I'll wait to see, firstly, if he is shipped off, and secondly, for who.

But if it does turn out to be a "trade" for Greg Bird then I will be at breaking point with things.

I am really starting to feel for Barrett in all of this too.

It seems he is being rail roaded with the decisions and agendas of 2 individuals. Not that I guess that is any great surprise. But to me (if this happens) its the brazen contempt and disregard for the players, coach and supporters to such a degree that seems to be going on.

I hope and pray that I am wrong.

I like Jamie too, but the reaction to him possibly leaving is over the top.

1. He hasn't been great value over last three years due to injuries.
2. He wouldn't make starting pack in any of the top four sides.
3. He has been a speed-bump on a few occasions due to his small size (think Junior Paulo running over the top of him)
4. He's probably on a fair wage given he played a SOO

I'd love to see Buhrer stay and will always support players who are Manly to the core. But I reckon Bird, who I don't like as an individual, would add more toughness to Manly pack in the big games.

Also, we lack a ball player in forward pack. Right or wrong, Bird fits that bill.

The fact that Knights are the only team who appear to be going hard for Ferris says something in itself.

Please if u believe for one minute that Barrett has no say u r crazy. He was bought into the joint by the "immortal" who is making the decisions. Those chosen few r all in on it as well. IMO

So, to you Jamie Buhrer is bigger than our club ?
It is about more than one player.

It is the unravelling of what we saw grow over the last decade into 2 premierships and a lifetime of great memories.

Some guys chose to leave the place while others bleed for it and will still be forced to go elsewhere.

The best clubs aren't the ones with 17 superstars running out each week. The bulk are support players and they are the ones that carry the culture as they strive to make their little parts bigger as a whole. They will have great games and they will have duds.

But they will be there week after week and the guy next to him will know that the guy has his back.

Buhrer is part of that fabric we had. To discard him for guys that have all of one year under their belt here, with little passion to show for what our club is, is an affront to many Manly fans. It is obvious that we had sides turn out this season that looked like they had just met in the pre-game warm-up.

I don't think it's an accident that as we see the management release more and more of our great clubmen, we are back to conceding big scores, we are getting our leads run down, we are sliding down the ladder and the fans are feeling more and more disconnected to our great club.

I understand the sentiment and I am seriously one poor decision by the club away from pulling the two memberships we had under this roof. If just a thousand felt the same then any hope for a new 'record' in 2017 memberships is extinguished before they've even got the brochures out.

Agree to disagree.

I have heard there have been some rows between Bozo and Barrett.

And Barrett strikes me as a straight shooter. So when he says he rates Buhrer as a club leader, I question who is making any potential move to push him out.

the problem

No.... the Penns and Bozo think they are bigger than the club

It is quite obvious they chose Lewis Brown to replace Buhrer in 2015 .. thisis when Jamie Buhrer was put on the unwanted list...

Now.... so the club dont look like dick heads and tell Lewis Brown to walk and admitt they got it wrong

They prefer to shaft a club legend to justify the Lewis Brown signing

instead of farking off Lewis Brown ...

They willl fall on their sword

i can accept Jamie Buhrer leaving but not in exchange for Lewis Brown.. and yes i will not support Manly any longer

Because the colours will be without soul

Buhrer is a fantastic player and also a good role model and naturally all of us passionate supporters would be disappointed if he leaves but we still have the Turbo boys , Kapow , DCE etc, and with the Snake possibly leaving and freeing money we should attract other quality players .
We all want the club to be a success including the ones that are making these big decisions who will be made accountable if we have another bad year . Looking forward to 2017 !!!

You are right . If they release Buhrer and they sign other players that wont help the club be a success they will fall on their sword
