We still don't know what happened though and if there was intent ... Punching a hole through a wall is that really DV? Intimidation for sure but not much different from slamming a door shut
Intimidation is considerably more serious (according to parliament and the courts) than common assault. Which stands to reason, as it is typically the key feature of domestic violence and the means by which control is imposed in abusive relationships.

My question would be - if he hit a door hard enough to break his own hand because she wouldn’t let him in...what exactly do you think would’ve happened if the door wasn’t between them at that point?!

There was a door. Wouldn't have a clue what would happen because it is all hypothetical. Don't think you can be convicted by that...

Yeah, righto. I’m going to assume from your glib responses that you’ve had very limited exposure to domestic violence. Good for you, but I’ll just stick to discussing the subject with people who have some experience on the matter in future, thanks all the same.

I’m not sure anyone has ever missed 3 weeks of footy because of a slammed door, although to be fair Jamie Lyon almost got concussed when Des slammed one once.

Glib? You are doing nothing but speculating and giving what if scenarios. What would have happened if there wasn't a door?
?

I read that his partner is pleading for him not to be sacked because of financial reasons . .
Wow. Barba has probably earned more in the past five years than most of us earned in 20 years, and yet it seems they have little or no money.
They can, however, afford to spend seven hours at a casino.

He has been around for 10 years, surely they should be set up finically by now.
Just because you are great at footy doesn't mean you are entitled to play. Act like a dickhead than you can work on a building site or pack boxes in a factory for $50,000 a year instead.
Most people are happy to give someone a second chance but there is a limit on being given another chance and he and several other NRL players have more than used up and shouldn't be part of the game.

Until Greenturd starts banning people from the game for life than these stories will keep happening. So what if we lose a few stars, it will clean the image of the game up.
If a club tries to hide these incidents which is near impossible these days hit them with a massive fine. If reported by the club and the player is sacked the club should be able to sign someone even if it is outside the normal registration period. The club shouldn't be punished for doing the right thing.

Dude do you know that making threats is a crime? Intimidation? Yep not allowed. These do not take into account speculation of every possible outcome.
My advice (which i offer unreservedly ) is to take the high road.

The White Knight to the rescue. What threats are you talking about? The "advice" sounds almost like a threat in itself.. Woah dude..

maybe he has a bit of a gambling issue- I'm not saying he has, but there have been quite a few former & current players who spend a bit too much time/money gambling.

Point i was trying to make was in reference to walker punching the door, your possible view that because there is speculation aboutthe possible outcomes does not affect the crime. Speculation does not matter in cases of intimidation and making threats, moreso what the victim felt.
I was not threatening you, my advice is when dealing with dv issues in general ( if not all violence) is to take the high road.

Oh and im not white.... :)

Passes off actual, physical intimidation as nothing, but misconstrues a common phrase typed on the interwebs as a ‘threat’. Oh, the irony...

That phrase is probably as common as magically disappearing doors and I have not come across either of them unike yourself.

The high road/low road concept is as old as the hills, and pretty easy to figure out even if it’s not in common usage under the rock you crawled out from.

Go away, little boy. Your lack of education and life experience is showing.

Paul Crawley nails the whole situation and contractual mess this creates in today's telecrap.
