That was more my point, but that is the world we live in now right. Everyone just has to do their own research and way up the pros and cons and decide for themselves what is the best course of action for themselves and for their family. Who they choose to believe or follow will ultimately just come down to who they think is telling the truth or has their best interests at heart . This is not something new, we have been dealing with media agenda, governments, conspiracies, cover ups, big pharma, extremists etc for years. They all have an agenda to a degree. I just try and choose the path I'm most comfortable with.

That's why I don't mind having a sensible discussion with someone who has different opinions, cause it can make you question what you thought was correct, or make you think twice. But then sometimes it can get overwhelming and trying to weed through actual helpful facts and studies and just rubbish. Sometimes I just leave the phone at home and go for a bush walk with the family or mountain bike ride at the back of say Belrose in the bush and get away and clear my head. Gets a bit much sometimes.

Thank god footy is still on and Manly is winning, that's a good distraction!

It’s easy to find information to support ones position, I personally don’t advocate for anyone, I just like to educate myself as far as that is possible.
A couple of things that really concern me is the all the present vaccinations are not FDA approved and therefore are experimental medical procedures (sounds risky to me) then the government grants the vaccine manufacturers with immunity from any harm arising from the vaccines, (that fails to provide much confidence in the whole set up) anyway there’s plenty of reasons to question what’s going on.
The main stream media is not presenting a balance and well informed coverage of this situation, it’s very one sided, I have found some extremely disturbing things and have spoken with individuals who have first hand story’s that are seriously horrifying in relation to adverse effects from the current vaccines.
Maybe the following is nothing to be concerned about, but is worth reading and researching before just believing what we are presented with in the media.

Ohio-based Attorney Thomas Renz was one of several speakers this past weekend at a conference in Anaheim, California, where he announced that with the help of America’s Frontline Doctors, he was filing a federal lawsuit in Alabama based on a “sworn declaration, under threat of perjury,” from an alleged whistleblower who claims to have inside knowledge of a cover-up of reported deaths filed with the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which is operated by the CDC.
This whistleblower has allegedly claimed, under oath, that there are at least45,000 reported deaths that have occurred within 3 days of receiving a COVID-19 “vaccine.” Renz states that this report of 45,000 deaths is just from “one system” that reports to VAERS.

You got a look who is funding these statements/writing these statements, they are all anti-vaxers, anti-government cults/organisations lol. Not the best example put forward.

this is another study done on the vaccine roll out in the UK, one of the countries with the largest number of vaccines administered to date. I know which one of would gravitate towards. There have been 4 billion dosages given world wide, going off the above statements you linked, almost everyone of those patients will suffer serious permanent side effects and death!

I think they will be a be turning point if or when the FDA approve the vaccines, I always look at this when i am making a decision on whether to take a medication. When this happens who knows though, these things usually take a few years, and lots of trials

Indeed, this whole situation is not great regardless which way you look at it, like you I have kids, family and friends I’d like to see have a healthy and rewarding future, we are all facing uncertain and trying times ahead. I hope you, your family and friends stay well and we all see some positive news in the not to distant future. (perhaps the 3rd of October would be a good start)

The masks information is disputed, I agree, although the evidence is pretty clear. Masks may have a very small impact on transmissibility. But it's something in the order of 5%... negligible, the data is clear as I explained and linked to a number of studies. No one rebutted my argument. They are not worth the annoyance and the critical social issue whereby masks hide ones facial expressions. The trade-off is too great, it’s dehumanising. Imagine kids in masks at school, learning to socialise, and they can’t see each other’s face. This is unforgivable. But there are a large number of public health officials saying they work, so it’s certainly disputed.

The mortality is not really disputed. Not by any credible scientists or studies. Covid mortality estimates vary from about 0.5% to 0.1%. The study I linked is the most detailed and global. It’s a few months old but it’s not really ‘out of date’ as someone said. But if it was out of date, the fact is time is seeing the IFR consistently coming down, not raising. There are a few reasons:

For one, though treatments are somewhat of a taboo subject for some reason, never the less they have improved significantly since the early waves. A number of repurposed antiviral drugs have been found to be effective to reduce the likelihood of hospitalisation and death. Ivermectin for one but there are others. And critically, catastrophic errors from early waves are no longer being repeated, for example ventilating patients unnecessarily. Due to panic, in early waves, decisions were made to fully ventilate patients that might not have been so otherwise. Patients on ventilation are not sharing the air with their healthcare providers, but the process of ventilation causes extra stress on the lungs and can lead to worse outcomes and should only be used as a last gasp measure.

Secondly, the typical evolution of a virus strain is toward greater transmissibility but lower mortality. Natural selection demands this path for a virus to thrive. You don’t get much use out of a dead host. Covid seems to be following the typical path in this regard. Look everywhere around the world. The data is there for anyone to see themselves on the world in data or other similar sites. In later waves, the “cases” may go up to similar levels to earlier waves, but hospitalisations and deaths are far fewer.

Thirdly, testing has increased. Now most good studies take this into account. But if someone is trying to digest raw numbers and looking at deaths / cases. You have to take into account that in early waves, when the epidemic was probably at its peak (maybe not in oz due to being an island but to some extent) many positive cases went by undetected. I kind of feel guilty that I haven’t done enough to fight against what I see as the greatest corporate / authoritarian power grab in my lifetime. SER8 made a quip evoking “gas chambers”. I never said that, but I would ask anyone reading this, at least draw your line in the sand. Segregation is upon us. Are you ok with segregation? Your call, I respect your decision. Can people be removed from social life? Can people be prevented from working to support their family? Can people be detained? There’s a few steps before we need to worry about gas chambers. But if we ever did get to gas chambers, it will certainly be too late for anyone to do anything. Once segregation really takes hold, will you be against it? Neutral? Or will you be the kind of person that actively supports it?

Where are the number of studies you reference? You sighted one study which was if nothing else quoted as not reporting on what you quoted (let alone the fact it is a singular source)
