I dont see it really. Cant kick field goals, put too many bombs up, not a great short kicking game. He tries but what is club going to pay a mill.
We went through all this with foz (at his best ) and dce a mill each was proposed.
Jackson deserves a chance he got shafted when roosters put too much pressure on him. He has a good kicking game and can kick goals.
If he does not work out try cullen who plays in the toovs mould

Im with you simon but Manly was offering Hastings to other clubs at one stage i think , so maybe he is not in their plans as a 6 . May have changed since last night .

We could do worse than trump Parramatta's offer to Napa and put Hastings at 6 and give him the goal kicking duties.

But I must say I am surprised at the surprise of some posters at the million $$ price tag of Mitchell Pearce. It was never going to be anything different. Moses Mbye is 800k a season and is a nobody. Ash Taylor is getting close to a mil at the Titans and he is a rookie. It's not about clubs paying overs, that's the going rate for a half back these days. It's not 2014 anymore...the cap increase and the demand for quality halves has changed the landscape considerably. DCE's wage seems fair now.

Yep it would be madness to break the bank for him. Having two halves on a million or Pearce coming in on 700-800 would make salary cap situation impossible.

Melbourne would of had slater, smith and cronk on around 1 million to go with their international pack.

When morgan resigns cows will have Thurston, Taulmalomo and morgan on 1 million each to go with their other big name players.

Before Pearce left roosters had him on 800k, to go with Teddy on 1 million and Cronk one 1 million also and cordner is on around 750-800k.

You look at Manlys roster and think surely we can afford 800k even 1 million if we needed too. I guess it all mainly comes down to TPAs and how much of that we can manage to get for pearce

I just can't see this DCE Pearce combo working. Reminds me a lot of 1986 when we had Phil Blake, Mitchell Cox, Des Hasler and Cliff Lyons all in the team for most games. They all played in that horror semi final we lost to Balmain after leading early & Cliffy got sent off.
