All we are saying, is Pearce off !

I'll fair dinkum swim the English channel if he is announced to Manly tomorrow.

I don't understand the confidence that he hasn't signed... He and Green just happen to coincidently have their releases announced within hours of each other, after we knew that the club wouldn't release Green without a replacement secured? I know correlation doesn't guarantee causation but it would have to be the biggest coincidence in Rugby League in the last few years, possibly ever.

These will probably do...

Yeah I'm with Weidler...there is no way a deal with Manly could be done in such a short space of time...

Pearce just doesn't wanna stay at Easts and he is due to train with them unless he is no longer employed there, hence the release request.

It will take a monumental effort from Manly to keep him from landing at the Sharks. They seem to be able to get who they want nowadays and Pearce is close with Graham, Gal and co.

Green was released because it was going to get ugly, not because we have a replacement.
As a contractor you don't walk away from a contract until you have done the deal. 3 offers on the table is speculation. He will be signing a deal shortly. He lives in Mosman or thereabouts. We are defo in the mix. I expect the nrl salary cap issue is all that is preventing him from signing with us. He won't want to play if we are penalised points. Fair enough but we won't be. He knows us mighty sea eagles have the wood on easts. And revenge and sticking it up uncle Nick is the only thing on his mind. He will sign with us bar Greensburg intervention.

If in fact like people suggest he signed a week ago, they had BETTER come out & deny any of it, due to restrictions and him still being on The Chooks books.

Even if he signed today (unless they waive the cooling off) they can't officially announce until Wednesday week, or we'd be in breach of various player movement rules.

So you can assume Pearces refute is the smartest thing for everyone.

I guess Randwick is near Mosman.

Half and 5/8 are interchangeable these days. His issue is not the number on his back, it's the fact that he was fall guy at the Roosters and Cronk was bought in to replace him. Even if they moved Pearce to 6, Cronk would be the dominant call at the ruck. Even though DCE wears 7, we saw a number of times this year, Green was the organiser and Chez played second fiddle...so Pearce would have no problems asserting himself at Manly.

The Roosters never approached Pearce about signing Cronk and they have Keary at 5/8 so it wasn't a case of moving Pearce to 6, it was a case of moving Pearce to the bench. Further, they knew he wouldn't stick around to play on the bench so it was all part of the plan to get rid of Pearce and bring Cronk in...they just can't openly admit that because it's bad PR and openly disrespectful to Pearce so they hide under a veil of good nature.
You could hardly blame him for wanting out could you . He's a pissed off camper but hopefully comes to us and throw it all in their face . I think he and the great Dce will compliment each other nicely and the pressure will be more on the circus in bondi.

The guy's who are saying it have no form in getting these things correct. Funny how people believe the media when they want it to be true. He may well sign for us but to suggest it's already a done deal is setting yourself up for potential disappointment.
If we let green go id say we have him otherwise why release him as the club said they would only release him if we found a replacement so.. and if we haven't signed him and we Let green go then we will go back to the bottom 8

In light of all the conjecture in tonight's news including Weidler's comments, and Channel 7 stating that Manly have not signed Pearce, I rang my contacts and was told to chill out, not to worry as all will become clearer after the 10 days. The contact says the paperwork came back from US around Monday / Tuesday last week so 10 working days means Friday this week if Tuesday - not a lawyer so I was surprised it was 10 days in Australia and not from Hawaii time. I asked if he had cold feet and opted out and opinion was it was still OK. Hope he is right.

Told him about the co-incidence factor and was laughed at, and was asked if I was so stupid to believe that rubbish - it's the NRL, co-incidence doesn't happen.

Also checked mail on surplus on Salary Cap and they reconfirmed which means all us salary cap accountants were wrong with upgrade numbers. Hope their next job is not clairvoyants at a circus... if they are wrong.

That's leaving out the massive hint of Green's release being announced at basically the same time as his.

No cooling off period when a player is released.

From the Rugby League Players Association.

If approved, it will stipulate that:
* A player may sign an extension of his contract with his existing club at any time;

* A player may sign with a new club only during the final year of his contract;

* A 10 business day cooling off period will apply to all contracts; and,

* A club signing a player is prohibited from making an announcement until the cooling off period has expired.

Someone is coming, that i am sure.

If it is not Pearce then it will be the player Pearce replaces, Green would not have left unless there was a replacement.

So Townsend, Lamb, Hodko?
