2026 ( the Nostradamus thread )

Zaidas Muagututia (18, Hooker, Supplementary List)

“Zaidas joins us on a two-year deal after playing Jersey Flegg for Canterbury and representing the NSW City U18s side this season. He played Harold Matthews Cup with Parramatta (2022-23). Zaidas is somebody who we have been tracking for a little while.

Zaidas is in our full-time supplementary training program for 2025 and will then join the top 30 squad the following season. We feel Zaidas can progress in the coming years. He is a very talented dummy half."

With that last name we are going to need a nick name, and quickly

I predict there will be a "good" forward signing, with another "decent" signing
Walsh will be in the 17
Garrick will have his last season at Manly
There will be some "changes" across the coaching staff - not just Seibold, which is definitely on ice already
Think 2026 won't be as bad as some seem to think, but I do feel it will be a settling year, that sets up a squad definitely on the up in 2027 and beyond...with some "young guns" including extra options at 9 to add the spark missing in recent seasons.

The good clubs seem to be able to engineer it so that even if a player is on contract they can get them. The excuses used.... he's homesick, he doesn't like the coach, he needs a change of scenery, the pies are better over there ..... bla, bla, bla. I wish we could do that.

I don’t see much change happening with us finishing 10th to 14th.
Another year missing the finals.

Unfortunately I see Tom and Jake spending a lot of time on the sidelines with injuries.

Fogarty will start off slow until he gels with the rest of the team.

Our issues are largely to do with our forwards.

And to this point we are gaining , ZERO forwards and losing two.

Yes I get a couple of Youngsters coming up and that might work, or might not.

I see us 14-17 at this stage.

I think we might be discussing our halves for at least the first half of 26.

I may be wrong but I suspect Fogs control vs a running 7 will take a while to adjust.
No offence, but I hope you're wrong because Fogarty was my only glimmer of hope for next year.

I suspect there's another reason for why we haven't debuted anyone this year. It's just so strange to me.

2020, Seibold gets a really bad rap, for getting rid of the senior players, and putting far too much faith in the young players, at the Broncos. Meanwhile the club is burning down in the background.

2023 - Schuster dropped for Arthur in a must win vs NZ.

Last year, Seibold puts Hoppa at fullback, debuting against the Storm, after we'd lost three in a row.

He also gives Navale 30 mins in both of his appearances, his debut, and vs Newcastle.

Clayton Faulalo gets to debut to three games, being a bench appearance, an 18th man activation, and starting on the wing in a must-win game against the Sharks.

Start of this year, he gives Faulalo a start in the centres, ahead of Schoupp, and then on the wing, in the following game.

Since the DCE saga, it's been absolute 🦗's.

We even have Faulalo demoted from bench back duties, for Aaron Schoupp of all players.

This is guesswork, but I think the DCE situation has spilt over, and divided the playing group. Hence he doesn't want to upset the development of the juniors, like he did at the Broncos.

That's all conspiratorial, but what else explains his methodology switching completely? Especially given we now have a lot better junior stocks... People weren't complaining about Navale not playing last year.

Anyway, we'll be a LOT better next year.

I think Schoupp got that bench spot solely because he can play 2nd row in a pinch.

$$$$$$

I'll be happy to see some changes, obviously The Fog is a big one, also I want some younger forwards. If we end up with Klemmer & Lodge as well as Jake, Brown and TKO I will groan loudly.
Nice. More realistic than the usual stop supporting those useless hacks.

I’m guessing it’s tight ar$e Penn not wanting to activate first grade appearance salary increase triggers.
