Well, even if Fainu gets off his charge with his latest injury setback he’d be middle of the year return anyway , so we definitely need another option.

Would seem strange to spend money on another untried probable .... we have enough talented but untried options already ..... unless it is a flegg signing ....

Exciting times ahead feathered friend !
We have another option ...
We have the Mad Professor/ Des Halser working on it right now

In the Trent Barrett years we had no options . All we had were excuses

There is no excuse for staph infections to be rampant in modern first world hospitals.

Recently I went into an emergency ward with an infection that was spreading up my arm, apparently to my heart, that could have killed me.

The doctor in emergency offered me two options. Stay here, be admitted and risk the chance of infections that may kill you. Or alternatively we can organise home service treatment which will dramatically reduce the chance of infection.

I chose home service and lived.

Unfortunately, part of the problem is people who demand antibiotics at the slightest hint of a sniffle, instead of giving their own immune systems (and maybe some home or OTC remedies) the chance to do their thing. Antibiotic resistance is a massive problem in healthcare these days. Nursing homes and hospitals are basically breeding grounds for antibiotic resistant bugs.

Totally agree on the antibiotics. Some docs reckon you should take the whole packet while others agree you can stop once you feel better. I listen to the second option. I have chronic sinusitis and don't take antibiotics anymore unless I'm curled up in a ball of fever and can't move or work. A diffuser at night and swims in the surf when you are well are a better option.
Dear old Dad's in a nursing home now. A good one because of Veteran's Affairs. The docs there don't prescribe him any unnecessary drugs. He does complain though if he doesn't get dessert at least twice a day. God bless the little trooper of a first generation Manly supporter.

Didn't Fainu have a Court date today for committal proceedings?
Excused from court due to his surgery - back in Feb.

Troubled NRL star Manase Fainu, who allegedly knifed a man at a Sydney Mormon church dance, has not faced court while he recovers from emergency surgery in hospital.
The injured Sea Eagles hooker and accused gang associate allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old in the back in Wattle Grove in October.

Fainu spent two weeks behind bars before he was granted $10,000 bail, and was forced to undergo an urgent operation for a severe shoulder infection last week.

“He recently had a surgery, he’s not available to be present today,” Defence lawyer Najee Makhoul told Liverpool Local Court on Monday.

The 21-year-old is likely to be hospitalised for several weeks and was excused from attending court when his case returns in February.

Under his bail conditions, Fainu is only allowed to leave his home without his parents to train, or for medical and legal appointments.

Three witnesses allegedly saw the Guildford man wielding a 10cm knife during the October 25 fight that his victim started by swinging a bat.

Fainu, who had undergone another shoulder surgery three weeks earlier, is accused of puncturing the man’s lung with a stab wound that was “within of couple of millimetres” of killing him.

But the Tongan international’s lawyer claims he’s the victim of mistaken identity because of his high profile during an all-in brawl between two groups in the dark.

Fainu was benched under the NRL’s no-fault stand-down policy after being charged with affray, recklessly cause grievous bodily harm in company and wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Manly Warringah No. 9, whose contract expires in 2021, likely won’t face trial until the middle of next year’s season.

"Three witnesses allegedly saw the Guildford man wielding a 10cm knife during the October 25 fight that his victim started by swinging a bat".

Amazing, now we have a swinging bat in the mix. If that information is to be believed, then it is understandable why a stabbing took place. This is why no decisions can ever be made until the entire story is heard from both sides, and in court.

Be very interested to know if any of these three witnesses saw him stabbing the victim, rather than "wielding a knife". Also interested to know how "semi independent" these witnesses turn out to be. As urulion says, we really don't know anything yet.
