FORMER Parramatta wrecking ball Fuifui Moimoi is back in rugby league at the age of 38 after signing for Workington.

The former New Zealand international has been playing rugby union for Bradford and Bingley since being axed by the Toronto Wolfpack in pre-season along with Ryan Bailey and Dave Taylor for unspecified breaches of discipline.

Now he has been reunited with Bailey under Leon Pryce at the League 1 club, who on Sunday became the first team to beat Bradford this year.

From Brent Read:

Interesting sub-plot to tomorrow’s game between Canberra and Parramatta. Raiders have basically given up on Junior Paulo. They believe he has been offered a deal by Eels and another club, possibly Cronulla. Figures astounding - 4 years, $2.7 million

LESS than 24 hours after scoring a try to help beat the Knights, Melbourne prop Tim Glasby was on a plane to Newcastle, in a sign that he is serious about switching clubs.

Glasby’s manager, Allan Gainey, told the Newcastle Herald last week the Queensland representative had rejected a three-year deal with Melbourne and was ready to explore the marketplace.

He was spotted with wife Casey and their baby son Parker on a Saturday-afternoon flight into Newcastle.

Knights officials were understood to have given them a tour of the city and the club’s training facilities.

The 28-year-old is a key member of Melbourne’s front-row rotation. He enjoyed a dream 2017, helping Queensland win the Origin series and the Storm claim another premiership.

Speculation continues about Paulo’s future in the nation’s capital, with Parramatta reportedly set to announce the 24-year-old’s return to the club on a mammoth four-year deal.

But Croker says Paulo is yet to tell the Raiders of his plans despite a media report on Wednesday saying he had accepted the Eels deal.

Paulo said on Tuesday he was weighing up “several” offers from Sydney clubs, but was yet to make a decision on his future.

Manly’s shining light to depart?

It’s been a bad time of late at Manly, but one of the few rays of sunshine has been the form of new buy Jack Gosiewski.

An off-season recruit from Souths, Gosiewski has looked solid in a struggling pack and at 23, is a player with a future.

Great to see new back-rower Jack Gosiewski named in the Emerging Blues squad. Player to watch in 2018

But there is one small problem - he only signed on with the Sea Eagles for this season and several clubs are already making inquiries about him for 2019.

Ironically, Souths are leading the way - and a return to Redfern is a real chance next season.
