    Kurt De Luis

I think his interview was quite revealing. Firstly as a kid growing up in WA he set himself a goal of playing Rugby league - "that's all I wanted to do" - left the state to pursue that dream, got his gig at Blacktown and worked FULL TIME and then went to training. Was given the opportunity in...

    Stats don't lie...sometimes

Correct when comparing volume. Given Jake Croker and Shu spend the majority of the 80 mins on the field that is what you would expect. We shouldn't discount the contribution of those that may spend less time on the field. If we look at it on a tackles per minute on the field basis then the top...

Silvertails- Let's score the Spines !!

Here is a statistical view of things. The Storm Spine has 64 Line Break Assists (LBA) and 60 Try Assists with 4203 Receipts giving them an LBA every 65.7 touches and a TA every 70. The Penrith spine has 47 LBAs and 44 TAs with 5245 touches ie an LBA every 111.6 touches and a TA every 119.2...

    The Dally M Winner 2021

Do that on a per game basis and exclude those that have played 1 or 2 games, then He is 1st in Try Assists (DCE 4th), 2nd behind Brett Morris (7 games) for Tries (Saab and Garrick are = 5th) 3rd in LBs behind Alex Johnstone and Garrick, first for LBAs.

When should we think about resting players?

Wouldn't write off Kurt De Luis either. He has played 100 mins this season and while on we have conceded just 16 points and only 3 tries. While he is no speed freak, he does work hard defensively in the middle and is always up for a hit up.

The send off's .. and tackle technique ..

I recall a few years back when Marty Taupau used to spend almost as much time at the judiciary as he did at training. Over time he has changed his style to rarely transgress. It has been a while since his last indiscretion. No reason why others cannot follow suit.

    Parker.

The thing that worries me most about Brad Parker is how often he gets hit high sometimes 3 or 4 times a game. Yet he keeps on getting up.

    All Sea Eagles Tries 2021

First four games our tries came from within the 22, not that there were many. After that most of our tries became long range efforts. We are also not limited to one edge we can go left, right or straight down the middle. Tries from kick percentage while it is growing it is not something we are...

    Manly's home grown talent

I think you can also count on one hand established first grade players that have left Manly and had equal or better success at their new club. Foran, Watmough, Glen Stewart, Phil Blake, Wil Hopoate to name a few.

    New Winger - Jason Saab

Been called an optimist before, but Hoppa comes off 2 knee recos, absolutely no football in months, into a losing side, playing outside a centre he may have never played with before so basically on a hiding to nothing. Possibly also playing out of position, I recall him playing Full-back in that...

    Morale

Our last premiership 2017 NYC that team contained at various stages in the season, Tevita Funa, Brad Parker, Cade Cust, Taneli Paskea, Haumale Olakau'ate who have played NRL this season. They played against Garrick, Harper and Keppie. Add to that 8 Hopoate and Schuster, Suli Crocker you have a...

    NRL ref check

At work we have been trying to address our diversity and part of the education revolves around unconscious bias. If you consider that for an eternity, when asked who do you support most league supporters will say their team and whoever is playing Manly. Therefore, if that has been your belief...

Breaking News: Corruption Exposed at NRL HQ

So Manly have been told that they cannot register Tim Simona he is only cleared to play Canterbury Cup. So his plan of attack should be, hire Isaac Moses, join the Broncos, get registered, get homesick sulk at training and then join Manly easy!!

Breaking News: Corruption Exposed at NRL HQ

How was this not worth 10 in the bin ?

I know he was falling but Walker was hit high too and a little late. Didn't Burgess hit DCE late and with a shoulder a year or so ago, again close to the line again preventing a try. He has form..maybe that should have been on the refs cheat sheet for the game too!!!

    Will History Repeat

History repeats!!! For decades teams that have dominated over a number of years have all had one thing in common. Bath’s babes, the Eels of the early 80s, the Bulldog entertainers, the Raiders, the Sea Eagles, the Storm, the Broncos. That is a nucleus of players that develop as a group...
