I do agree that he should be the half over DCE ... but the Manly/Cherry fan in me wouldn't be too upset if Cleary doesn't have a good game even though its probably inevitable that Australia will win fairly easily.

Not that DCE has done anything wrong at the World Cup. His form has been every bit as good as Cleary's. But 2020 and 2022 Origin aside, Cleary has been the best halfback in the game for the past 3 years and only a fool would suggest DCE get picked ahead of him.

Although in saying that, if DCE did play half because Cleary got suspended or injured, Australia wouldn't lose anything. We're covered with goal kickers in Holmes and Mitchell, plus Cherry has the Qld combo with Munster, Grant and Hunt.

Cleary is not kicking well tonight. 1/4 at goals so far.

Given that the stadium in Huddersfield is also a top flight rugby league stadium in England ... you'd think that for a World Cup Quarter Final they could at least have properly marked out a rugby league field.

I get that it is football season over there right now. But still......

The pitches over here tend not to have every 10m marked out. I don't think there's a requirement to do it

Not quite. 9 of the 12 super league grounds are RL grounds ( a lower league soccer team may use it but not primarily) 3 grounds are shared between soccer and RL.

Maybe, but a lot of the games aren't being played at ESL grounds, eg St James, Bolton, today's game
