Who will Des bring with him and who will he flick?

I believe we will have a hoppa on the wing at some point during the season - Albert. Excited to see what he can do in the top level.

The club wanted to lock TT and JT in for good as Manly and that is why his price is what it is. I understand why but you can't play guys out of position just because they are paid too much to play where they belong. He isn't worth anywhere near 800k as a FB so play him where he can do what he can but not cost us a whole bunch of points at FB. "coz he is paid too much to play anywhere else".to me seems an absurd way to go about things.

TT's defensive and positional play as a FB is woeful and he will benefit the team much more if he is not at FB. Let him be a roving winger.

BTW, I watched all Hoppa"s games this year and he leaves TT well and truly for dead as a FB.

Hoppa has benefited from having a proper coach
Turbos is young and will improve leaps and bounds once he gets the opportunity to be properly coached.
Didn't Des look at poaching JT and TT whilst at the dogs?

I am expecting big things from Turbo if Des is at the helm. He was the coach of Snake during his best years so I think it is absolutely possible that, with the benefit of Des’ tutelage and influence, Turbo will develop into a fullback the equal of Snake.

I like Brian, he has great footwork and has a real dig (sure, has a number of areas to work on but the upside is definitely there). However, It all comes down to what we have to pay to keep him. He will be in line for a pay upgrade and I am not sure we can have $1m+ tied up in our starting centres given the contracts DCE and the turbos also have. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a ‘casualty’....

I can see how that works... from an accounting and mathematical point of view. But why stop there? Let’s sign Munster, Sam Burgess and Corey Oates while we’re at it, and get rid of Hodgkinson, Perrett and Jorge. Perhaps, we could even sign Vunivalu for added depth as well.

If we get those guys I reckon we could make the 8. Maybe we should make a play for Ponga just to be sure? From a salary cap point of view he’d just be taking the place of Hastings.

Turbo is suffering from too much expectation from within. I would not be surprised if he has more touches than our halves. Essentially they just throw it to him and then play support.

Too much, too much . He is being targeted, hammered and as a result is running sideways because they dont give him the ball when he has options they just give it to him to create options. I feel for the young bloke really. Im surprised he isnt doing the tactical kicking, team talks and kicking goals. With so much focus on his attack and hit ups and support through the middle it leaves him very thinly spread for defence, organising defence and positional play.

Fullbacks pick there times, watch and inject themselves , not be playmaker for the majority of the match

Right now he looks a bit at sea at fullback but reset the plan, get some other players to do there job and i think he can shine. If not get rid of walker, sign hoppa to play fullback and make turbo a centre with kelly. But it would be a shame if he has to change positions because of other players
