Who could replace Des?

I reckon Spud Carroll would fix our defence pronto and he's 'Manly'.

He seems to be a Souths man, he is a Crowe offsider and attends their games in Souths colours.

Who we should target but would need big dollars thrown at them and then no chance of signing are Craig Bellamy or Trent Robinson.
Signing most other coaches is just moving the deck chairs, you need someone players want to play for.

Give Matt Ballin a go. Not sure how he’s done in the lower grades but he’s young enough that he’d understand the game is changing and would actually give the young guys a crack. Plus he’s a Manly legend which is always a positive

Our boys don’t play for each other and it starts with DCE. Des has failed to galvanise this squad and his selections are crazy. I’d rather lose Des than Schuster. Come on Penn show him the door!

Flanagan and Bennett will be available and both would be excellent. I know people don’t like Flanno, but he can coach and he’d fix our defence pretty quickly.

Craig Fitzgibbon has big raps if we went with a newbie, but that didn’t work out well last time.

Honestly the top options would likely be;

Jason Ryles & Craig Fitzgibbon - Both highly rated and come from winning systems. That said either probably being more selective on the role they take on and we may not be attractive despite our big name stars and young talent.

Paul Green - Premiership winner who went a little stale with his club....that can happen. Currently with QLD but imagine he'd move for a NRL gig.

Shane Flanagan - Premiership winner and can coach. Also a proven cheat which puts me offside, when is his suspension up?

Wayne Bennett - Hmmm not sure, has the record and seems to be a coach players love playing for.....could I stomach it?

Shaun Wane - experienced with plenty of success in the Super league (3 titles I think). In Australia and keen for a gig....probably the cheapest option.

Ben Walker - A roughie but has the Manly connection.....a play at getting his son?

Monas or Chad Randall - In the system but the system aint working atm....not for me

Tooves - Love him......LOVE HIM, but not the answer
