[Resurrected] what the f**k is wrong with our club

I recall the Glenn Stewart and Foran contract sagas being a huge dent in morale in 2014. We fell off a cliff toward the back end of the year and have never really recovered. I know 2021 is often referenced but I actually think 2019 is the best we've looked since the dynasty ended. We could actually grind out wins and defend quality opposition. We were smashed by injuries when it mattered most and with some better refereeing and a fit squad, we'd have beaten Souths in the SF.
You're correct 2019 was the best performance in 10 years, got dumped against Souths in the SF, and we were without Tom for the finals from memory

Speaking of semi-recent times, 2014 in general will always be a big what if for me, just like the qualifying final in 2013.

That 2013 qualifying final - what if we took the penalty shots on offer from the Roosters deliberately slowing things down in their 20? Or what if we converted even just 1 of our 3 line breaks that night into a converted try (the Roosters made 0 that night)? What could we have done with the week off of a win there?

2014 - narrowly missed out on the minor premiership by going down to the Panthers by 1 point in the 2nd last round. Went into the final round still on top of the ladder before losing Ballin and Buhrer to injury in a last round loss. In 1 match at the pointy end, we went from having the team that could do it to relying on Jayden Hodges and a reserve forward to help take us all the way

I’ve never said once that I love the coach , but I’ve said many times he’s not at fault for the crap performance on the field.

The Cartel , of which you’re a member , have tunnel vision , EVERYTHING is the fault of the coach.

I don’t subscribe to this view.

Guess you think Cleary is a dud and should now be sacked due to the Panthers losing 5???
Did you rate Des Mark? It seems your sentiment is very different there. It's like a multiple personality disorder when it comes to appraising and offering grace towards Manly coaches.

Whaaaat???? You are aware that Cleary has been to six GFs and won four of them right?

Penn is going nowhere unfortunately. He severely overvalues his stake in the club so no one is going to buy him out at his fantasy land price. Especially not in its current state, so we are stuck with him. Like him or not, we don’t exist without him though.

If only Hugh jackman would develop a sudden an incurable obsession for rugby league

If penns company is publicly listed somewhere we can band together and buy a majority stake in the next trump tariff dip, force an extraordinary board meeting to sell off the sea eagles ownership, then in the next trump tariff peak we sell out and buy manly. Simples. We just need to understand what trump will do next.

We need a new owner who isn’t going to take second best that can rebuild our club with smart staff no excuse coach and a balanced consistent playing group

Why place all the blame on the owner? What about our recruitment team? Just look at our squad. The age of the players contributes to injuries and a lack of speed, which is really hurting us. Additionally, the NRL's scheduling didn't help yesterday; we looked completely exhausted. Now we have to play again on Thursday, flying back from Perth, while St George gets an extra day of rest after playing at WIN Stadium. This isn't fair.

I can't recall seeing our team this slow. At the start of the year, we were all excited about the speed in our backs. Jake needs to move to Prop, and we should consider giving players like Caleb Navale a chance instead of Sipley, Ben T, and Tevaga.

We need to give new players a chance and start planning for 2026, as 2025 seems lost already, even after just six rounds, given everything that's happened at the club recently. To say it's disappointing is an understatement!

Here I go again lol it is not rocket science guys the rot of the club is penn it’s plain and simple and nothing is going to change until he is gone
Makes me wonder why you bother following the club as it is clearly pointless, unless you are putting a consortium together to oust Penn. Btw, do you think a different owner wouldn’t have signed turbo and DCE back in the day, as you clearly blame Penn for an unbalanced roster. Seibs is the biggest problem, which I put more on Mestrov than Penn. We are so unfit, pedestrian and unstructured compared to just about every other team. That’s coaching, pure and simple.

Did anyone in recruitment in this club think that it might’ve been an idea to try and get Royce Hunt or Terrell May last year instead of continuing with these plodders.

Only if their managers offered them to us on a platter. Otherwise things like scouting and recruitment are a bit hard.
