What Bris can teach us

There is no A.I. Just better computers
The broncos suffered when Wayne left. Ivan Henjack and the Griffin saw the once proud club flounder and go backwards on and off the field.

BUTT

When Wayne went back to Brisbane he turned the club around. Not only on the field but off it.
Between the massive increases in memberships, sponsorships and merch their turnover increased by $20,000,000!

If Tooves was bought back in there is NO DOUBT we would see memberships double, ticket sales go up and even merch sales go up. We would be more attractive to sponsors also.
AND we would be Manly again.

Following articles are a few years old now.

The Broncos are already the highest performing club in the NRL, turnover has risen from $25m to $35m since 2009, and are about to go to market to source a new coaching sponsorship deal that alone could be worth up to $500,000 a year

WAYNE Bennett’s second coming has helped drive a 16 per cent increase in Broncos memberships, with the club setting a record target of $10 million in sponsorships.

One of Bennett’s secondary attractions to the Broncos board in their decision to bring back the seven-time premiership coach was his perennial appeal to corporate Brisbane.

“We have an ambitious target for our sponsorships to push beyond the $10 million for the first time. Last year was our best performance ever,’’ said Broncos CEO Paul White.

Wish that the Northern Beaches and surrounding areas had a population base of some just over 2 . 2 million people such as greater Brisbane . No doubt things and the operation of the Manly club can always or should be doing a little better right now but does make a mockery of this level playing ground spin by the N R L when comparing the Broncos with most other N R L clubs . Hopefully a second Brisbane team is inevitable down the track to reduce the Bronco "s unfair advantage but also of course it would be still expected of clubs like Manly to seek out more opportunities and avenues to improve and enhance their sponsorship and corporation and community input and associations

Looks like they'll be keeping Bennett for awhile then.......

2v would have to promise to use the whole bench at least 5 times during the season for me.

Unfortunately the big 3 or 4 clubs are going to continue being “ BIG” and featuring in finals because they can afford all the coaching and playing staff they want.

It’s just like the ESL where 2-3 clubs dominate and have for 20 years.

Sad really, but I think it’s the death knell of the game (eventually).

How many coaching staff did Des have at Manly ? He went to the dogs with the best facilities and the most staff and he won no premierships there
I think the over staffing is over rated .

Obviously we are not going to be Brisbane.
The point is they took Wayne back and the fans re-engaged. Bringing in $$$ to the club.

The point is Tooves would do the same here.

What Brisbane can teach us is how to garner support from your local business men.
Whilest not a city like Brisbane, there is a hell of a lot of rich arseholes on the northern beaches.
We just need to make the club an attractive "business club" exclusive to the wealthy.

That was what I was thinking. Doesn’t Brisbane have the Thoroughbreds or some name like that and that’s where they get their TPAs?. Why can’t Manly get some business men/women who get together and form a group that has nothing to do with the Penns and support our players with TPAs. As long as they are not involved with the club it seems to be ok with the NRL and our players benefit.

If only we had a group of high profile local women who helped to promote the club, raise money for charities and help with garnering sponsorships.

We could call them Eagles Angels!

I rated this funny but it isn't, imagine where the girls would be now if Penn didn't screw them over?
