Do I need a blue pill?Come on Tez, don't drop the ball
hard questionDo I need a blue pill?
NoCome back and tell me he can coach when he has won a Premiership for us. Until then he isn't a pubic hair on Haslers underwear.
He is a better coach than Hasler 2.0At no stage did I say I wanted to keep Hasler. But the post I responded to inferred that Seibold was a better coach that Hasler. This is demonstrably wrong. My preference would have been to have Flanagan, but that ship has sailed. I think Seibold has the ability as a coach to have us consistently finishing 6th-8th, but I see little chance of a Premiership under his tenure and for me that's just not acceptable.
The Better perspectiveHe is a better coach than Hasler 2.0
Your opinion only. Your measure for Hasler was badly impacted by the rainbow jersey fiasco and losing Tom for the season to a shoulder injury etc etc Like I said, I didn't want to keep him, but Seibold so far is absolutely not a step up on Hasler and in my honest opinion never will be. I sincerely hope you are right, and I am wrong, but I just can't see it.He is a better coach than Hasler 2.0
Turbo missed half the season last year & missed another big chunk this year. Why is Toms injuries an excuse for Haslers record but not Siebolds? I actually think we look a lot better without Turbo now then we did under Des as wellYour opinion only. Depends what the red pill does.Do I need a blue pill?
Would that not be a positive to Siebold's coaching?Turbo missed half the season last year & missed another big chunk this year. Why is Toms injuries an excuse for Haslers record but not Siebolds? I actually think we look a lot better without Turbo now then we did under Des as well
While generalities are great, you need to see how a footy team is travelling before judging. Results, and sports, are not always black and white.I've been thinking about this. Siebs is contracted to 2025
If we miss the 8 I've always said he should be moved on so I think he's safe now.
If we make the 8 and go out first week we see what happens next year.
if we make it to the second week or finish top 4 id give him a year extension to 2026
A prelim or gf he gets extended until 2027
If we some how one the comp the bloke gets as long as he wants.
Its a results driven business.
It's interesting to listen to choc speak of DES during those premiership years.Hasler is going to lead titans to a bottom 4 finish & people are still talking like we lost some unbelievable coach? Don’t get me wrong, back in the day he was at the top but the game has gone passed him. Apart from that fluke 2021 season when Turbo had 1 of the best individual seasons of all time he hasn’t looked close to taking a team to the GF for 10 years unlike the top coaches Bennet, Robinson, Bellamy, Cleary
You’re happy to make excuses for Des’ poor performance yet Seibold gets no such latitude 🤔Your opinion only. Des 2.0: and Below his best version could still manage to get Manly a superior top 4 finish.Des 2.0:
2019 - 6th - 14 wins, 10 losses (60%)
2020 - 13th - 7 wins, 13 losses (35%)
2021 - 4th - 16 wins, 8 losses (66%)
2022 - 11th - 9 wins, 15 losses (37.5%)
An overall winning percentage of 50%.
Seibold:
2023 - 12th - 11 wins, 12 losses (48%)
2024 (so far) - 6th - 11 wins, 8 losses (58%)
An overall winning percentage of 52%.
So far Siebold’s worst year is still better than 2 of Des 2.0’s seasons.
Forget about Hasler, Seibold won’t win us a Premiership…..period.You’re happy to make excuses for Des’ poor performance yet Seibold gets no such latitude 🤔
How many Premiership’s has Seibold won? Des has two as our coach, my ONLY measure of success is Premierships.Des 2.0:
