Welcome Anthony Seibold... and good luck

I of course wish him well but I can not believe that he's going to be leading us out of the mess we in. Never for once crossed my mind that he would coach us one day.

Within 2 years I see a Barrett 2.0 result for both the club and him but Jeez I hope I am wrong.

Thanks goodness for keyboards because Penns suck.

I am pleased with the way we handled the arm wrestle early especially with Canberra being at home and up for a big game for Papali. I like that we shifted to the edges early and moved their big pack around. Canterbury had success against them doing that and we did it well as we have speed top burn out wide. Credit to the players for executing and two more wins and Seibold gets his extension.

Seven more wins will give many of us an extension!

It’s been much more apparent (to me at least) that we’re playing with a game plan this season.

Remember when Barrett was here & he had DCE & Green & Walker kick into touch on every 5th tackle?

What about when Hasler was here & we often looked a shambles, or started a game well then fell apart as soon as the opposition pushed back or a decision went against us?

These days we seem to have a definite game plan & if it’s not working in the first half, we’re coming out for the second half with a different game plan.

I think Seibold knows what he’s doing & obviously spends a lot of time studying game videos & developing not just one, but 2 or possibly more game plans based on our opponents each week.

Come back and tell me he can coach when he has won a Premiership for us. Until then he isn't a pubic hair on Haslers underwear.

Hard to please. I think he's doing a solid job this season with the amount of injuries we've had and where we are on the ladder its a definite improvement over last year.
Hasler was a good coach, it's time to forget about him and move on.

We were coached to die on the last and hand the ball over.

It is all about results in the results driven NRL Business

At the end of the year every coach will be judged on their teams performance according to the calibrate of players they have at their disposal

Injuries and setbacks are part of the game and a head coaches ability to come up with ways to build character that over comes adversity and lift his team and prevail will be rated higher than the coaches that comes up with ineffective excuse and fail

At Manly we have the two state of Origin leaders that lead a teams of quality young players and experienced hard heads
At Manly we have a top 8 team
At Manly we are expected to make the top 8 and a top 8 is to meet expectations
At Manly a top 4 is exceeding expectations
At Manly a Grand final win is Legendary Celebrations
Good Luck Anthony Siebold . I hope you make your self a Manly legend and Make all Manly People proud !

I thought in 2022 that it was worth persisting with Des, and that Seibold was not a demonstrably better option to replace him.

However, the facts are that, as of today, Seibold has a (slightly) higher winning percentage as coach than Des did across his second stint as Manly coach. Which would suggest that he is doing something right...

Hasler is going to lead titans to a bottom 4 finish & people are still talking like we lost some unbelievable coach? Don’t get me wrong, back in the day he was at the top but the game has gone passed him. Apart from that fluke 2021 season when Turbo had 1 of the best individual seasons of all time he hasn’t looked close to taking a team to the GF for 10 years unlike the top coaches Bennet, Robinson, Bellamy, Cleary

At no stage did I say I wanted to keep Hasler. But the post I responded to inferred that Seibold was a better coach that Hasler. This is demonstrably wrong. My preference would have been to have Flanagan, but that ship has sailed. I think Seibold has the ability as a coach to have us consistently finishing 6th-8th, but I see little chance of a Premiership under his tenure and for me that's just not acceptable.

The fact is also Seibold second season stint has not completed as yet
and I suggest that the right thing to do is wait and see where we eventually finish on the ladder

Des is a Legend but his results since winning premierships and making grand finals have been declining . His first stint at the 13th placed on the ladder Titans have so far been an underachieving one .

I get the feeling that the second half turn arounds are based on Plan B or Plan C rather than rants, motivations or PowerPoint presentations.
