Nice touch but no wonder we lost.

There was more than one problem! But yes I agree, it is so important and we don't have it. So disappointing to see Manly so disorganised, week after week. There was only one problem yesterday.
Communication.
In attack and defence.
We had none.
And that's a massive problem.
Strangest sight - instead of Burbo, AFB was ballboy!?!
No AFB did the ball boy duties in the first half and Sipley did the second halfThis has been mentioned in multiple threads, but I'm pretty sure the ballboy was Tof Sipley, not AFB. Saw the close-ups on TV and it was definitely Tof. Seems a case of confusing one big, bearded Polynesian guy in a hoodie with another.
I don't think AFB was at the ground, which is pretty disappointing really.
Im not seeing a lot of upside in siro . Not enough of anything . People crucify levi for wrong option taking but surely sirro makes him look like an amateur. Not even sure if he can pass left to rightJust seemed to follow the script for many games over the past couple of months , good enough and solid start , then just can not keep their game together . Certainly have to continue to give some slack with more established players out but still is enough experience and capable players to get better outcomes . Still can not come to terms with the lack of communication in general and particularly from D C E , should have been obvious that it was Funa 's ball when he collided with him and other examples where he is just not communicating with his outside men in defence and which is so crucial with edge defence . Not saying that he does not put in , just some individual mindset that seems to appear in his game but regular on field talking to his peers is needed even more with an inexperienced side . Looks like Des is regarding Haumole in more of a prop role in the future , not such a bad idea , mobile big man in the fisher - Harris mould [ but even a bigger body ] , good work rate , similar to Paseka . Not sold on Marty "s overall attacking style with the jinking and change of direction , just gives the opposition more time to reset when the ideal should be for sharp , incisive running past the advantage line and quick play the balls No doubt quite a few positions still to be sorted by next season . Turbo , Suli and Walker will unquestionably improve the back line , Schuster in the side somewhere , 9 still a bit of a quandary , where to play Jake , Young Hoppa to sort out his future , probably a player like Garner to bring a bit of agility to the back row . Maybe a pack with Jake , Paseka , Haumole , Garner and Siro and even Marty can get some defensive steel back in the middle with the backs to follow suit , If not and a better run with injuries , could be another trying season next year .
Hear what you are saying there [ in regard to Siro ] and have had similar outlook for some time now . Got a feeling that Burbo could offer something worthwhile as a wider running back rower next season . Certainly has the size and speed and if he can get his tackling and endurance to a required level . Still think that Siro can be used more effectively , just has to time those runs to be hitting the defence wider in the ruck area and at least with some prospect of finding some outside support . O K if a grinding type of footy is getting some results but in Manly 's case this season , just resulting in some very predictable and lack lustre plays .Im not seeing a lot of upside in siro . Not enough of anything . People crucify levi for wrong option taking but surely sirro makes him look like an amateur. Not even sure if he can pass left to right
there seems to be some type of magnetic pull that draws him centre field . It would help if he got the odd pass that put him outside his edge defender but dont get me started on that

No doubt that Siro has been occasionally hampered with some injury issues but just look when he got out in the open against the Titans recently after a tackle bust out wider . Looked good and has on a couple previous times this season when running the better lines . But as you have alluded to , that almost magnetic pull back to the middle for most of his runs , can"t be doing his body much good either with the extra attention he gets from being an easier target and getting hit in the middle .Eels offered Lane some big money but probably slightly less on what Siro was on at Manly at the time . interesting comparison and Lane seems to be relatively injury free as well over time . liked Lane ability at Manly . like Siro "s too if he can be used better .Valid point. He seemed somewhat better in tight games.
I think i made a post a couple of years back that lane would be better to keep and move sirro on. Then gladstone happened and lane was outa here
Probably worth mentioning sirro was a chronic injury plagued player. Manly took a gamble on him and while he has had injuries for his position he has gone pretty good
Off track to your post al, but with all the injury talk on here i thought id chuck it out there
You're wrong....I was near the fence and it was definitely AFB in front of me with gloves on retrieving/holding balls around the ground. No confusion, 100% sure, which is why I was so surprised to see him. This has been mentioned in multiple threads, but I'm pretty sure the ballboy was Tof Sipley, not AFB. I thought he had a knee problem , If he was fit enough for ball boy duties why didn’t he play ?You're wrong....I was near the fence and it was definitely AFB in front of me with gloves on retrieving/holding balls around the ground. Thanks for clearing that up for me, Nordburg and ALinda. I'm actually glad AFB was there. You're wrong....I was near the fence and it was definitely AFB in front of me with gloves on retrieving/holding balls around the ground. No confusion, 100% sure, which is why I was so surprised to see him.
That's the $64 question, because he was walking around fine.I thought he had a knee problem , If he was fit enough for ball boy duties why didn’t he play ?
TomT was doing ball boy duties when he was out with his hammy.I thought he had a knee problem , If he was fit enough for ball boy duties why didn’t he play ?

We had to make him do something for his money this season. 😉TomT was doing ball boy duties when he was out with his hammy
I’d happily collect balls for a million a yearWe had to make him do something for his money this season. 😉
