Walters Sacked

Have they had a non Qlder as a coach before?
Offering the current NSW coach the job, that'd be funny.
Yeah I do not see that happening... and Slater has said he is not interested in a full-time gig at this point...

However, money talks and BS runs a marathon...

It will take a strong willed and thick skinned person to take on the role.
Walters is a five time premiership player and a favourite son yet got the punt so what chance an outsider?
Coaching tends to be a recycling market but there isn't much out there to choose from apart from Madge, Demetriou and a few rookies trying to get a foot in the door.

Didn't see this coming and have to say it's strange timing - takes the attention away from the NRL prelim finals, as well as the build-up to Brisbane being in the AFL GF.

Wonder where it leaves Barrett. Surely they wouldn't....

I don’t think Kevvie is a bad bloke or bad coach. Problem is the head swells at the club. The attitude of ‘I play for the Broncos’ can be seen on many of the players. For mine….apart from Carrigan, Mozer & a couple of others, most of the players have their heads so far up their arseholes it’s difficult for them to breath! Kevvie would be a nice addition to our assistant coaching staff.

I like Kevvie but missing the finals 3 times in 4 seasons (with that squad) at the broncs was like signing your own death warrant... I am not even close to shocked...

Hannay likely imo (Qlder with Cows experience and a handful of relatively recent head coach games at gummies) or potentially Adrian Lam (Qld boy that is current coach and won the Challenge Cup with Leigh Leopards)...

Maguire too much of an outsider that is also current NSW coach (see lead balloon) and they are not going with Barrett (baggage + NSW rep player)... Holbrook I dont see as having many advantages from a broncs perspective but is a good coach (well he was in England) so maybe...

The other bolter that may come into consideration is Brad Thorne I reckon...

Yeah Brad Thorn for mine too

As uplifting it is to see Brisbane imploding you can bet the club will still gain maximum free-to-air exposure on prime time television next season. The Channel Nein coverage has little to do with giving all fans a contest between the better performing teams.
