The fact that both Barrett and the club are continually saying that they can't say anything for legal reasons rather than coming straight out and saying either yes he'll be here or no he won't be is a big indicator to me that he definitely won't be here next year.
If Barrett was definitely going to be Manly coach, everyone involved would be saying so.
So what does that make what Barrett told the players on Monday morning? He told them that he will definitely be here. Was it a lie? A smokescreen designed to at least keep the players motivated for the last few weeks of the season?
A 12 hour smokescreen to fool the players for 3 weeks?
I don't give a stuff what the keyboard warriors/experts on here say, if nothing else, Barrett quite clearly cares about the playing group and vice versa.
So if he told them on Monday morning he was staying, then something happened later that day to flip things on their head.
I have no doubt that if he looked them in the eye and told them that, he meant it. At least when he said it.
