Sooo...what was the purpose or need to call it ? Did the club make him do it as a directive and if he didn't it would be considered a breach ?

It doesn’t appear that anyone here has picked up on Andrew Webster’s story about Barrett falling out with Fulton. It all makes sense, based on DCG’s recent muttering about letting Green go etc.

So de-Trentification underway, concurrent with re-Fultonisation.

Maybe it comes down to stress and his wife is sick of it and wants him to quit coaching and focus on the family. Just speculating. He may not be the right coach for us but he's certainly had a pr*ck of a season with never-ending drama and the media have been relentless.
The införmation about him wanting to quit wasn't supposed to addressed until after the season finished. Another leak within the club? Gould? Or other media?
Regardless it's created a frenzy that Trent and Manly don't need.

The fact that both Barrett and the club are continually saying that they can't say anything for legal reasons rather than coming straight out and saying either yes he'll be here or no he won't be is a big indicator to me that he definitely won't be here next year.

If Barrett was definitely going to be Manly coach, everyone involved would be saying so.

So what does that make what Barrett told the players on Monday morning? He told them that he will definitely be here. Was it a lie? A smokescreen designed to at least keep the players motivated for the last few weeks of the season?
