Trump

I see you’ve chosen not to address any of the articles I posted but you’re big on defending Trump & talking him up for what’s now happening in the Israel/Palestine conflict.

Do you believe that balances out the things he’s said & done in regards to a large increase in measles outbreaks, his comments on autism & Tylenol, him using his position to sell cryptocurrency, watches & other Trump branded paraphernalia, endorsing Tesla cars, & asking for Netanyahu to be pardoned?
I really can't see what wrong he has done, he's allowed to have an opinion on lots of things being the President. As for spruking crypto, Tesla cars and Trump branded merchandise, it's legal, if it's to much you don't buy it. He's quite entitled to ask for a pardon, for a friend he's known since the conflict began 2yrs ago.

It’s not legal - see quoted post below.

You don’t think Trump appointing RFK jr (a notorious anti-vaxxer) as his secretary of health & backing him in his statements about MMR & COVID vaccines (among others) has any effect on US citizens’ attitudes towards vaccines that prevent measles? With a large increase of measles outbreaks in the US this year?

You think it’s acceptable for the US president to say that taking Tylenol when pregnant causes Autism when there is exactly zero evidence of it doing so?

Being “quite entitled to” & actually asking for a pardon for Netanyahu are 2 very separate things. You don’t think the US president should practice more diplomacy in what he says, given he’s seen as the most powerful man in the world?

"Federal ethics regulations concerning the “use of office for private gain” clearly prohibit any employee from using her government position or any authority associated with her public office to endorse “any product, service or enterprise.”"

What Trump has said about Jeffrey Epstein over the years, including on 2024 campaign trail

"2019: Trump distances himself from Epstein: 'Not a fan'
After Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking of minors in July 2019, Trump was asked about his 2002 comments in which he called Epstein "terrific" in a New York Magazine story.

In response, Trump repeatedly said he wasn't a "fan" of Epstein.

"Well, I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "I mean, people in Palm Beach knew him. He was a fixture in Palm Beach. I had a falling out with him a long time ago. I don't think I've spoken to him for 15 years. I wasn't a fan. I was not, yeah, a long time ago, I'd say maybe 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you. I was not a fan of his."

In August 2019, after Epstein's death, Trump retweeted a post that alleged Bill Clinton was connected to Epstein's death.

When asked about his retweet in an interview, Trump said "what we're saying is we want an investigation. I want a full investigation, and that's what I absolutely am demanding. That's what our attorney general -- our great attorney general -- is doing." The attorney general at the time was Bill Barr."

"2025: Trump tries to dismiss Epstein files after DOJ, FBI memo prompts GOP backlash
For the first several months of his administration, talk of the Epstein files was mostly left to Trump officials, including Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. In April, Trump said he was unaware of when the files would be released.

Then, after the DOJ and FBI released their memo on July 7, Trump reacted to outrage from his MAGA base.

Trump tried to shut down a question about Epstein during a Cabinet meeting the next day, July 8, right after the deadly flash flooding of the Guadalupe River.

"Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?" Trump shot back to a reporter. "This guy's been talked about for years. You're asking. We have Texas, we have this. We have all of the things. And are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable."

Quite a turnaround in attitude towards releasing the files.

I'll see your Trump....and raise you 2 Clinton's 47mv.

It's Trump, and he does things his way. Trump doesn't take a wage for being the President, so I wouldn't begrudge him a bit of renumeration on the side.

He gets paid ~$400k a year, where did you get the idea he doesn’t take a wage?

So despite it being forbidden by the US constitution for a president to endorse products while in office (& therefore illegal), you think it’s okay?

How do you know Trump is getting any personal gain from this. He hasn't been arrested, don't get to excited 47mv, it ain't going to happen.

He has an online Trump store selling Trump merchandise, all profits going to the Trump Organisation, so he’s making money out of it.

He created & sells his own cryptocurrency, which is dependant on the stock market to increase in value.

Elon Musk donated $270million to his 2024 election campaign. Trump then advertised & endorsed Tesla cars on the White House lawn & accepted a Tesla as a gift from Musk.

And Trump is still the Pres and never been arrested. 🤔

Trump has said he'll donate his 2nd term 400k per year to charity.

He’s been impeached multiple times & found guilty by a jury of 34 felony charges.

What are your thoughts on the potential impact of Trump’s endorsements & advertising (& badmouthing other brands) on the stock market?
