@ training today

Chuck him on the wing, in front of who? Uate will have one wing spot and presumably either Taufua or DWZ the other. And we don't need him at fullback because we have Tom and (though unlikely IMO) maybe Snake.

Where would he even fit in? No point in playing him off the bench because while he can cover the backs, he can't cover any forward positions.

If Manly are supposed to be getting Whare and/or DWZ then really there would be no first grade position for Locke.

@SeaEagleRock8

At best he makes our team. Will probably just be a handy back up though. Same with Jonathan Wright. They come cheap and are experienced backups. If they fail we haven't lost much.

Kevin Locke kicks goals also not sure how well though. He kicked 24 at warriors and 5 at Salford. He is a good pickup for us, chuck him on the wing, fast and evasive plus can goal kick.

Would rather him at 5/8 or fullback mate. Hate to see him on the wing jumping for balls with blokes twice his size.

I'd actually rather Jonathan Wright on the wing. Tall, can jump. At this stage, we have Taufua & Uate on the wings anyway.

Ideally though, we land a centre, Tom remains at fullback.

01. Tom Trbojevic
02.
03.
04. Dylan Walker
05. Akuila Uate
06. Blake Green
07. Daly Cherry-Evans

I really feel are the sure things. I do feel Taufua is exploring options either positionally or club wise.

Perfect world. Whare / DWZ, but Gould has clearly stated that is not happening and I believe him.

Gus has systematically derailed us. Signed Whare. Signed Kite. Signed Hiku. Recommended Barrett, and The Penns bought his advice hook, line and sinker.

C'mon Ryan. How the **** can you blame Barrett for our performance this season? The injuries and the rebuilding period are well documented. With our roster last year we were at best going to sneak into the 8.

No, not solely Stevo, but parts of it.

He was the one that selected Lewis Brown and Nathan Green over Tom Symonds & Feleti Mateo.

Barrett was the one that persisted with Walker at 5/8 while we had Lyon as a viable option.

Barrett was the one that tolerated Cartwright & Myles laughing at the worst possible times.

BUT, I agree. Injuries, fitness, match fixing (allegations), political warfare, unhappy roster, under performing players, no accountability, Bozo domineering etc, etc, etc all played a part.

I thought our defensuve structure (especially around the middle) was shocking, but maybe that's Siebold.

All these non Manly ring ins have rooted our club. Blokes like Cartwright, Ferris, Myles and Brown don't bleed Manly blood - AT ALL.

As it stands, our roster at present doesn't even equal that of last season with the players retiring / gone (Buhrer, Matai, Lyon & many more).

You'd think given this the club would be smart enough to go into PR overdrive, name some signings, be at the forefront with information and good news.

But alas, nothing. Don't even have a team on the official website. Just message after message suggesting we renew membership. I read a media release around the Buhrer release that our membership renewals are embarrassingly low. I can completely understand why.

Yesterday was the soft day, meet and greet. Today my understanding is that all "available" players (only exception is overseas - world cup) need to attend a full assessment by the medical team & fitness coaches to establish their current levels. Would be an interesting day to hang around Narrabeen to see who's smiling on the way out...

Did you see his pass against dragons this year? He threw a catch and pass ball 30 metres, he basically did a 30 metre tip on, no one can do that. I'd say he's 3rd on the list of ball playing fullbacks, behind Moylan and Boyd.
As a ball playing fullback, Tom would also be behind Barba, Coote and quite possibly Munster as well. All of these guys have played 5/8 at sometime in their NRL careers (Munster is set to play at 5/8 in 2017 when Slater returns) and this is a good way to judge their ball playing skills.

Of greater importance to me rather than who is new that has turned up is, are Snake/Skivvy there running around because that more than anything will determine if there's going to be some new faces or not!

Lewis Brown is a utility that covers most positions on the field. Nathan Green Struggled in an also struggling pack. He did however play a few very good agmes in the middle of the year before. Mateo was a waste of space you Barrett knockers seem to forget that neither he or Symonds were in Tooveys teams late in 2015.

Walker was bought to play 5/8 because the friggin captain didn't want to play there. People forget that whole thing went on.

How do you Know Barrett tolerated Carty and Myles laughing after losses? How do you know neither were spoken to?

Our Defensive structure last year was fine. After 8 games we had a win loss record of 4-4 and were running mid table. Injury hit and we lost 7 in a row. Only 2 of those were by big margins. (30-6 30-10) Then we won 4 in a row. Injury hit again and we lost our last few. Again not by big margins except for the last game against the panthers when we basically played a reserve grade side.

You really need to get over people needing to bleed Manly blood. This is the way of the future. Also, there have been countless players in recent years who have turned into manly greats who are not manly Juniors. Kite, Kennedy, Lyon etc. then there are ring ins who are premiers wearing the maroon like Steve Bell, Joe Guluvao and Michael Robertson.

Why would the club have a team list on the club website when the team list is not finalised?

My favourite part of this site is the people that believe they know better than Barrett, Bozo, Cartwright and co when it comes to recruitment and team make up. People who know better than 3 Professional footballers and coaches who have played at the highest levels of Australian Rugby league because they have some weird belief that 2 of them need to have been ballboys at Brookvale to be able to run this team. Some of you guys need to get a life. Seriously.

Munster's ball playing at fullback is non-existent. He gets the ball, runs around a bit (usually in circles) trying to palm people off. He's strong, safe under the high ball and has a good fend with pretty decent footwork. Overrated to the max, and completely found out in the finals series where he put in a really credible performance as Mr Invisible. TT leaves him for dead.

That's telling em mate!!!

I'm just sick of the negativity Mark. It's really boring. I understand people are disappointed after a poor season but you can't help injury.

Also I can't understand why people can blame Barrett when it was Toovey and the Penns that left the team in the state it was.

*in whiny voice* because he's not Manly!

Haha Blacktown's backline could look something like

1.Locke/Omar
2.Locke/Omar
3.J Wright
4.Willaime
5.Parker
6.M Wright
7.Cullen

That is some reserve grade backline

And yes I realize Matt Wright is no fulltime 5/8 but if Locke and Omar were both to secured we'd be stacked with fringe quality backs

Well I completely disagree with that to be honest.

How can you categorise Ben Kennedy, Jamie Lyon and Brent Kite in the same basket as Mate Myles, Lewis Brown and Dylan Walker?

We've all watched the games, and I certainly could see who brought into (hell, and help create !!!) the culture we developed.

It's not about a players origins. It's about what they add to the team.

Yes, everyone is excusing this seasons performance due to injury. I listed here the other day the injuries we had in 2015, and they weren't too different, yet Toovey got us to 9th, and guess what, he had a whole lot MORE off field distraction than Barrett.

Titans fans are excuse makers, and readily accept 14th spot on the ladder. I just prefer to have higher expectations for our team & players.

People will always debate who goes in and out of the team on their sites webboards. Doesn't mean they are suggesting they know more than Barrett.

Last year was our worst year in 20 odd years or something. People are entitled to be disappointed and negative towards that. It's human nature.

People can belittle the sentiment about be Manly blood all they like. The Swans call themselves bloods FFS. I feel I can see the difference between a player doing a job (Nate Myles), and a player is Manly at heart (Jake).

**** me, it's that brotherhood with Stewart (1 & 2), Matai, Choc that cultivated the powerhouse we were.

JAson King said to me in those early building years, that Manly had too many individuals (yes, they were quality), then he said that when they learned to player together as a tight knit group, that's when our club would go to a whole new level.

And we did.

DOnt confuse disappointment and passion for negativity either man. People enjoy their hobbies in very different ways. That's what makes everyone individual.

Lastly, if the game is going on a path where players have apathy to the jersey, the games doomed already (and probably why attendances and ratings were at huge lows this season)
